It's not easy making a name for yourself. Where do you draw the line?
I never thought I'd be in this far. Let's have some fun and never change, not for anyone. Try not to miss me when I'm gone.
Woah oh oh. Woah oh oh. I sold my soul to the open road. I live my life alone!
You won't find me in the same spot, believe me. I could never stop.
Watching him drink the stuff for the first time Lila grinned as she saw how he struggled to keep a tough composure as the liquor rode down his throat. Taking another drink of her own she looked at the boy then back her mug which was still about three quarters full. Then moving her gaze smiling back at the boy whom she could now name Toby she said, “Toby, nice, the name’s Lila, short for Delilah,” her words still not slurring considering how much she had drunk already.
“This,” she said pointing to the mug, “is what ye call Brandy me boy, never tasted it before have ye,” she said this grinning like a child. “This is the strongest stuff, old John over will let me have, considering I’m a woman they say,” laughing loudly after saying this she took another swig and said, “Sometimes I act more like a man than they do, little girl thingy’s they are.” Grinning as she sat there on the stool looking at Toby in front of her.
My life's turned upside down. Meet me out past those train tracks. I'm leaving and not coming back.
You're right and I was wrong. This town will be the downfall of us all.

gather ’round, ye lads and lasses set ye for a while and hearken to me mournful tale about the emerald isle let’s all raise our glasses high to friends and family gone and lift our voices in another irish drinking song
Tobias shook his head, the hint of a smile, a smile that wasn’t cruel, for once, come across his youthful face, as she spoke to him. He didn’t recognize the taste, at least not yet, but he knew he had most probably had the stuff before, he just couldn’t remember where or when. But it mattered not, for the drink he remembered the clearest, ironically, was Scotch, the whiskey brewed by the Scots up North. Well, in reality, he remembered the morning after and the hangover that came with it. He had barely just turned twelve.
“Aye, I’ve tasted ‘er.” He smirked, forcing another large gulp down as he grinned back at Lila, shaking his head, daring her to best him. As far as he was concerned, the barman was right; no woman could out drink a man; it was just the way things were. Men were better than woman. End of story. At least, that was what he had been brought up to believe, never mind that the captain who had brought him up for most of his young life had been a women. Yeah, work that one out.
“Really?” He asked, raising one eyebrow as he forced yet another gulp down, bringing the level of the liquor down to over halfway gone in his mug. “Do ye think I’m a ‘little girl thingy’?”
now everybody’s died so until our tears are dried we’ll drink and drink and drink and drink and then we’ll drink some more we’ll dance and sing and fight until the early morning light then we’ll throw up pass out wake up and then go drinking once again

Watching a smile appear on Toby’s face one she really didn’t expect Lila grinned herself as she took another gulp of the drink she just sat there listening to him. Smiling she then thought about the times in the past where she’d gotten completely and utterly pissed that she couldn’t remember a single thing when come the morn. “Ye really think ye are gonna beat me I this don’t ye?” she said grinning playfully at him when he dared her to outdo him as she took another large gulp of her drink which as she looked down into the mug was nearly empty.
“Holy mother lord that fucker, “she muttered as she eyed her nearly empty mug, “I’ve nearly drunk it all already.” Laughing loudly at this she placed the mug on the bar with minimal sound as she still chuckled. “ Yea some of the men ye find in here may seem a right ruffian, but by God they can turn out to be the biggest wimp ye have ever seen,” Laughing again after she had said this in a low voice so as no one would hear she looked at Toby for a second before answering his next question, “Nah, ye don’t seem like no girl thingy to me ye have already gone through nearly a whole mug to I see,” she said having a quick look inside his mug then went on, “ and ye seem right as rain to me. But then again that’s certainly is a drunks opinion.” Finishing she smiled at Toby her smile warm and soft as she then picked up her mug again and took only a sip this time.
My life's turned upside down. Meet me out past those train tracks. I'm leaving and not coming back.

He glanced up at her shrewdly again, rolling his eyes as he swirled the liquor in his mug around again. He didn't even understand what she was going on about anymore. Wait, she was challenging him to a fight? But he couldn't hit a girl; that was what the really crude pirates did. Even though he belonged to the lowest of the low on the social pyramid, Tobias knew he was better than that, somehow. It was almost as though he knew that he was different, that he was, in a way, special in his own right. It was if he knew something of his high birth, even though that was completely unknown to him.
And yet, here he was, making a pig over himself over alcohol, for it is not our birthright that determines the end result. Our environment shapes up, sculpts us with careless fingers.
"So in oth'r words, Imma coward 'n a girl thingy." He confirmed, downing the rest of his drink in one graceful swig. Then, as if to show just how crude and unmmannerly he was, he belched loudly.
"Time ter git 'nother drink, missy." He ordered, although he wasn't about to let her spent the rest of her money: this time, he was sneak behind her and pickpocket the barman while she was ordering. At least, that was his plan.
"Jus' go with it." He added, even though he had confided none of his scheme to her.

“Did I say that, I don’t think I did aye,” Shrugging Lila drank the rest that was in her mug and putting it back on the bar she laughed as Tobias belched loudly. “Well i was a wondering when i would hear something that loud from you,” Smiling she looked down at Tobias and actually how much he reminded her of herself when she was little except she was a girl.... Grinning she still thought about him and the way he acted, just as she had when she’d first entered this pub many years ago.
“Another drink ye say well.... let’s think about that for a sec aye,” Sitting there pretending to think she smiled as she sat up straight again and said, “aha ... another drink it shall be the,” Turing toward John she ordered a refill of both the mugs of the same drink as before.
My life's turned upside down. Meet me out past those train tracks. I'm leaving and not coming back.

"I ken be a lot louder." He said, in case she wanted to test that. But she did not and he wasn't too bothered by that; right now they were engaging in a better crime.
He slunk behind her as she approached the bar, bending so low and keeping so close behind her that it was impossible for anyone to see him as he crept along. As she handed over the mugs for refilling, Tobias tip-toed around the edge of the counter and, quieter than a mouse, came around behind the barman.
Now for the part he had been looking forward to: the honest pickpocketing. It was a skill he had long since mastered and perfected into an art. Stealthily reaching his hand into the man's trouser pocket, he drew out the coins for which Lilia had used to pay for their drinks, keeping his hands closed around the coins to stop them from clinking together. Exceedingly pleased with him, as he usually was after a pickpocketing, he slunk out of the bar space and went to go sit down with Lilia once more, kicking her under the table to get her attention.
now everybody’s died so until our tears are dried we’ll drink and drink and drink and drink and then we’ll drink some more we’ll dance and sing and fight until the early morning light then we’ll throw up pass out wake up and then go drinking once again
