and that's when i met you standing on your mother's porch
“I’m serious,” Will insisted, “if you don’t believe me, send them in. I’m not lying…now.” It was the truth, this time. Will really could handle fifteen guards at once, if they were the unskilled, inexperienced fools he was assuming they were. The outlaw was a master swordsman, but he could not face fifteen swordsman parallel in skill to himself and expect to win.
Will shrugged, “Alright then, I’ll just make my way to your brother’s treasure chamber, help myself and leave, no harm done?” He asked, but he raised his eyebrows as he said this. She was no ordinary princess, he could see that already. Normally, he would have not even taken the time to bat an eyelash at her, but something about her intrigued him, called to him and for some, inexplicable reason he wanted to know what it was.
“This is a circular conversation.” He announced, unnecessarily. “So, as I hinted earlier, I’ll be leaving now to do some filching.” He said, smirking slightly to himself, then added, sarcastically, not knowing that she might just take him up on his offer, “Care to join me?”
His mind already made up, he crossed the room carefully, sword still raised in case she decided to drop her ladylike behavior, of poor excuse for princess-like conduct and put his hand on the door. His journey had not been graceful, however, as he had nearly fell twice, but managed to catch himself each time, giving the princess vantage during the few seconds he took to recover. Raising his sword to the ready, should the guards she had mentioned really be waiting outside the door, (although he doubted it, seeing as they would have heard his and the princess’ conversation) he swung the latch open and pushed the heavy door aside. He stepped through it, just as he had so many times before in other castles.
you told me that you'd wait forever i knew that it was now or never

He could lie all he wanted. She knew that it would be over for him once he exited her room. He die the open window, without bars, would be discovered and that would be the end of it. She at this point was just so annoyed by the man that she just wanted to call in some guards just to get rid of him and his ego. Who did he think he was. Some sort of mast swordsman who couldn't even stand on his feet. No he was from Britain, it wasn't an uncommon thing that people from Britain thought better of themselves. Seemed like he had a problem with it to.
"You said it yourself. That no one in their right mind would stay here on their own free will." He wouldn't be smart enough to understand that. "There are guards behind that door. Not to mention that there will be guards walking trough the castle and guarding the treasure chamber. Which you'll never find." Only a few people knew were it was, and it wasn't like most people would think. A smart thing of the former king, she felt more loyalty toward the dead king then toward her brother. Which was kind of bad.
"And i would love" there was this sarcastic tone in her voice. "to join you. But i don't think you'll even make it trough the doors." She kept her ground though her eyes flashed to the window. Her escape route from the moment she took some clothes and her jewelry (only because it was the only thing she could use to buy stuff with). She watched him as he used a whole lot of drama to swing the heavy doors open. She waited for the sound of metal as swords would meet.
Surprisingly they didn't. It kept still. Change of the guard, had the guards fallen asleep and had she been able to escape for the past couple months. She didn't know. She didn't trust this. She completely ignored the presence of the other male and walked to the side of her bed. She pulled out the hilt of her sword and her bow and arrows. She refused to leave either of them behind. Now he knew why she was here he could either be shocked or he could go and steal then get caught and tell the guards exactly what she had told him (probably lie about it) and then go on with his merry life. She however needed to get out and she needed to find her way into one of the most barbaric countries.

and that's when i met you standing on your mother's porch
“Want to bet?” Will challenged, pausing, his hand flat against of the door, itching to push it all of the way open. “A nice solid bet, too, for instance, if I take out all of the guards, you have to lead me straight to the treasure chambers. If I fail,” And here he sneered doubtfully, “then you have the liberty of taking me straight to your royal prat of a brother.” And he flung the door open, his sword held in front of him.
At first, he met no resistance and he stepped cautiously into the corridor. Still, nothing. Moving in a flash, he pressed himself against the castle way, listened, but heard nothing but the sound of his own heart beating. He jumped out into the center of the hall, his weapon still raised, waiting for an idiot guard to rush out and attack. But apparently the Irish guards weren’t quite idiot-quality; perhaps they were just simpletons. Well, at least Will wasn’t going to be entirely bored when they finally attacked.
“Ha!” He called out into the silence and his voice and his voice alone bounced off the walls of the castle. He stood there, waiting, listening, ready to spring and start fighting at a moment’s notice, but no one attacked. Huh. Strange. Shrugging his shoulders, he seemingly relaxed, even though he still stood stiff and tensed. Looking back at the princess, he called to her in a voice just above a whisper.
“Well, what’s it going to, princess? Your royal pride or…” He slashed his sword around in the darkness, hoping to catch a silent attacker that might be sneaking up behind him, “…your freedom?” He held out a hand to her, as if offering her the world or the chance to stay in her prison, disguised as her sleeping quarters.
you told me that you'd wait forever i knew that it was now or never

She could even hear her mother speak when he had told her that. 'betting is not proper for a lady Kira, you must remember that'. And yet she was seriously wanted to take him on that bet. Not exactly knowing what she would enjoying more. Knowing that her brother would get into some serious trouble and there would be no way she would be blamed for it or seeing him going down. He had been rather rude to her, then again he wasn't the first.
He seemed over confident over his abilities to fight, she wasn't even surprised at that. When he pushed the door open she expected to hear the sound of swords the very instant, there was no noise what so ever. It was completely still. Perhaps the wind that went trough the lands but it was barely heard. She frowned, all this time, all this time she could have gotten out at night but she simply didn't do it because she thought she wouldn't get beyond her door.
She was so concentrating on her own thoughts that she almost looked surprised when he called out to her from the empty hallway. She hated to admit it but he was right. She had a choice now. She could sit here, letting him do whatever he wanted to do but she would be a prisoner, waiting to be married of to some noble who would probably be around twenty years older then she was. Or she could go with him. He was an outlaw and he had done nothing to earn her trust but he was offering her her freedom.
"I must be out of my mind" She muttered. Walking trough her room to her closet. She opened in and in less then a minute she had pulled on a cloak and put a belt around her waist. She knelt at her bed and pulled out the hilt of her sword which she bound around the best and placed her bow on her back. Kira didn't know what she was doing or why. It seemed like a chance and perhaps even her only chance. She shook her head again before she stepped out of her room. This was the first time in God knows how long. She was glad to be out, somewhat relieved even. "Let's get going then." She really had no idea what she was doing, it was a first.
Notes:Sure sure, i don't i could do it anyway

and that's when i met you standing on your mother's porch
He grinned, being unable to help himself. “Ah, yes, so you’re coming to join my insanity.” He quipped, reaching forward and trying to grab hold of her hand. His mind, which he himself did not understand, was under the impression that she might take it. The other part of his mind, the part that did not think she was drooling over him every second of the day and night, wanted to keep physical contact on her, to see that she didn’t off and alert the king of his presence. That was the practical part of his mind and it was seldom given a voice.
“Don’t feel bad.” He added, with something of a rogue grin, flashing his perfectly aligned, white teeth at her. Leading her down the halls, he kept his sword and ready, should they interrupted by guards and there seemed to be a distinct lack of them. Why, then, had she stayed up in her tower all that time if there was no one to guard her? It didn’t make sense to him and plenty of things made sense to him, seeing as he was highly intelligent. Was this destiny intervening, removing the guards during the one night in which he was to rob the Irish castle? Or had he been merely misinformed about the princess in the tower?
“Right, will your show me to the treasury, your highness?” He asked, very politely. He was becoming to feel rather unnerved as their journey continued without the faintest hint of a guard, warrior or servant. The halls were…deserted; completely deserted. They seemed to be the only two people walking them. He was begging the powers at be to release the guards, to at least to prove to him that he was not going mad. Besides, a bit of fighting for a beautiful woman (at least he assumed she was beautiful, got he hadn’t really seen her face yet) would cheer him up immensely.
And then, they passed into a dark hallway. “d*** it.” Will complained, cursing aloud. Now all he needed for them to jump out at him while he couldn’t see them. “You got a torch?”
you told me that you'd wait forever i knew that it was now or never

His insanity? Yes of course a sane man wouldn't just climb up a three to break into some strange castle just to rob it. And here she had always thought that those things needed preparation, guess not. Besides she'd rather call it a temporary set back of her mental capabilities. She hadn't noticed it before but he was holding her hand? Why she had no idea? Probably because he didn't trust her or something like that. She'd get him where he wanted to be and then she was out, she had no clue herself why all of the sudden she had gone helping outlaws.
Feel bad? Where did he get that idea from? Sure it wasn't exactly her habit to just walk around at night (even before she was locked up) with some stranger who had broken into her room just to rob the place she lived. But still she felt better then she had in a long time. She felt sort of, alive. The one thing that did worry her was the absence of guards. Had they trusted her that she would not try to escape? Or was it some higher power helping her to get out? Perhaps it was even mere dumb luck? She wasn't complaining at all (no guards less trouble right?) but it did tell her that something was off. This was not how things were supposed to be.
She was rather surprised when he politely asked her to show the way tot he treasury. Even calling her by her , so called, 'proper' title. Once she was out of here she wouldn't be called that anymore, she hoped. ”Fine” she said. ”But don't call me that. It's not like henceforth I'll introduce myself as Princess Kira Isabella Lynch of Ireland” she almost laughed at it. It was way to long anyway and the last couple years she had just rolled her eyes at people he addressed her by title or full name. She was a girl so sure she liked attention every now and then but everyone would be amazed by what a bunch of kiss ass people court people were.
Right then they turned into a dark hallway, strange, normally hallways without windows had torches in them. Even hallways with windows had them. ”Of course not. You would have seen the light by now wouldn't you?” Now that was a completely stupid and pointless question anyway. ”Besides,” she continued. ”We don't need to be here. We need to go down stairs, ground level then pass the courtyard and walk to the left wing. From there we need to get to the second floor and the giant door with guards and torches before it would be it.” She sighed. And was a bit calmer when she finished speaking. ”We're in the left wing now. Highest tower, no one was supposed to get in or out. If you want to go to the treasure you'll need to go to the right wing. Probably passing my the chambers of my brother and sister”

and that's when i met you standing on your mother's porch
"Whatever you say, Princess." He said, undaunted, but inwardly, he was pleased. Princess Kira Isabella Lynch of Ireland. Kira. Her name and title suited her and it pleased him in an odd, detached sort of way.
He gave her a withering glare, which didn't work very well in the darkness. "I was hoping you might be able to procure one for me, Princess." He snapped, not taking the implication that he was stupid kindly at all. Will was not exactly stupid, in fact, he was highly intelligent. Yet he did stupid things; he was famous for it. He would apologize for one thing that had been a foolish error, then turn right around and do something just as idiotic. It was almost a wonder of nature. And here he was, once again, in an exceedingly stupid situation; stuck with a princess he had only just met, in a foreign country, trapped in a castle in the dark He was more or less, at her mercy and that idea frightened him and excited him.
He was no stranger to women. In fact, despite his arrogant ways, he was quite the charmer when he wanted to be. Exceedingly handsome, he was irresistible to some of the more...intellectually blind of damsels.
"Right." He said, realizing, after a moment, that he was going to have to be nice if he was expecting to get anywhere with Kira. "Take me down to the treasury then...please." He reached out a hand for her to take, so she could lead him further into the darkness. He was going to have to trust her, odious though it was. There was just, no way around it.

Men, say one thing they'll probably do just the opposite. She never really cared about her title. Before her brother had been king she just had been Lady, well just wasn't the correct word. Though most of her personal servants and ladies called her Kira. Well except of course when outsiders were with them, that was just keeping up appearances. When her brother became king and she Princess it had stayed the same. Well that was until she was denied her freedom and locked away of course. Besides, someone could have a high title all they wanted. It was what you did that mattered right?
She had doubted that before, but at this moment she was quite determined to get away from her title. She just shook her head as he snapped at her. If she was able to produce a torch she would have done it by now wouldn't she? Besides she didn't do fire, she did ice that was a whole different thing. Besides he didn't know that, did he? She just ignored that statment. He was just going in , yet another, pointless discussion about it. She wasn't about to do that. She just wanted to get out of these walls as quickly as possible.
Though his change of heart about being somewhat civil with her didn't seem totally convinced she knew that if she let him run around here only to get caught by the guards that wouldn't help her case. Besides, the fact that someone might be able to steal from the castle itself seemed to her as yet another piece of proof that her brother was a poor ruler. She sighed, she had to think for a moment or so. She murmured the route the had taken so far to figure out where they were. She needed to find some stairs and she knew exactly where to go.
Her eyes were slowly getting used to the darkness, her room had been dark only the light of the moon shone in but this was just absolute darkness. Still she could somewhat see the shape of his extended hand. She grabbed it somewhere around the wrist and pulled him along. Sure he could stay here all he wanted but seeing as it was he who wanted to go to treasury she assumed that he would come along. Besides her pull might just have surprised him, she wasn't a weak little girl. Most men were surprised by her force, swordsmanship and her abilities as an archer. "Let's just go" she said. She just wanted to get out of there, her tone made that clear.

and that's when i met you standing on your mother's porch
"Fine, let's go then." He muttered, not failing to wince as she grabbed his hand in an iron grip. What? Did she think she was going to send him running in the other direction, screaming like a little girl just because she squeezed his hand with all of her strength? Well, he would run screaming like a little girl if it produced good results, usually attention, but even he knew that this just wasn't the moment to start spazzing.
Something was different about this girl, as she lead him down through the dark hallways of the castle, something that he felt that set her about from the others, but which he could not lay his finger on. It was a feeling of forshadowing, a vague mental flicker of things that might come true in the future, nothing more. Will didn't really know how to deal with it, so he just didn't.
Keeping one hand on the hilt of his sword and one hand in Kira's, he followed through her the dark halls, waiting for the moment when her vocal cords would force out the harsh scream of "GUARDS!" and he would be surrounded. Yet, he did have some sliver of hope, otherwise, he wouldn't be clinging to her hand like a lost child as she led him into the darkness. Really, trusting her was quite foolish and under normal circumstances, he wouldn't have trusted any wench, much less a princess, but there was something different about her.
"Are we there yet?"
you told me that you'd wait forever i knew that it was now or never

She loosened her grip on his hand once she heard him wince, it wasn't a loud sound but she'd hear about anything where there wasn't anything else she could possibly hear. It was silent. "Sorry" she apologized a bit sheepishly. She had not been out to break his wrist or bruise it and she hoped she hadn't. But on the other side she hadn't even used all of her strength and this made her think more in a direction that he was just drawing attention to himself. They didn't need that.
It was strange that she was here, in this situation. Leading someone who she didn't know at all strait to the treasure chamber. He had just stumbled in her room and now she was taking him just because he asked? What was wrong with her? She couldn't exactly care that much either. There were hundreds of thieves and outlaws, thousands. Why was this one so special because by some coincidence he had decided to use her room to break in? She was sure it wasn't that, it wasn't the time to think about it either.
It was then that she stopped. She had found the staircase that would lead them to the courtyard. That was sooner then she thought. She did scoff lightly when he asked if they were there yet. Impatient man apparently. "No, but if you know a faster way then enlighten me" He wouldn't, if she didn't even know a fast way then no one would. She had been sneaking out of places since she was a small child. At least the stair case wasn't as dark as the corridor. Some torches burned in it, good to. She probably would have broken her legs if they weren't there.

and that's when i met you standing on your mother's porch
He said nothing, but his mind whirls with irritated insults that he was barely able to refrain from trying out on her. It would have been so pleasant to vent his impatience on someone innocent. Well, not completely innocent as she had threatened to set her guards on him and that wasn't very nice. For all his frustrations, he was able to amuse himself with the thought that Kira wasn't a very good hostess after threatening to call the guards on him, nearly crushing his wrist and being generally unhelpful. Well, almost unhelpful, she was leading him straight to the treasury, or so she told him.
...
"I'm starting to doubt you even live here. Are you certain you're a princess or are you just her maidservant?" He did not doubt her lineage, but this was seriously taking forever. This was Ireland, after all and they weren't the richest kingdom in history, how big could this castle be, anyway. If he found out she was leading him in circles, he was going to, going to...make her sorry for what she had done...and work out the details later.
"Listen," He lowered his voice, slightly, its tone completely changed to one of seriousness, "Let me take some gold and then I'll get your out of this place. Outlaws' honor." He added, even though there was no such thing. Outlaws were so hunted because they had broken the law and Will was a lying, sneaking slimy git and yet, he would keep his word this time, don't ask why.

It didn't take to long to get downstairs and she was honestly waiting for the moment she stood outside those walls and she could get as far away from this place as she wanted. Not to mention she didn't have to deal with the quite annoying person next to her either. It appeared as if they were in some sort of throwing insults competition. He insulted her she insulted him she only wondered where it would stop. not that she was backing down, no, she rather liked a god competition and her chances of winning were high in this one to.
"As i said before if you think you can find it yourself then just go, But you can't so just keep quite because nothing intelligent comes out of your mouth any way" at least not at the moment. He had made several good remarks earlier but now he was just being a pain. The sooner this would be over the better, it was just one maybe two corridors to go. She rolled his eyes at his statement, even with his new serious tone. "Do you, as an outlaw even have a sense of honor?" rhetorical question really.
It was then that she stopped rather abruptly. They were there, finally, she was getting rather tired of him acting like a child. The only thing that came out of his mouth was the question if they were there yet, in various forms. At least he got what he wanted, he had asked for guards well there was a set of them waiting, and he had asked for the riches of this place well once he took care of the guards he could help himself to whatever. She'd be out here sooner then she thought.
