x x i don't mind spending every day out on your corner in the pouring rain look for the girl with the broken smile ask her if she wants to stay awhile
“Yes, books.” Simon confirmed, “I can read in English, Gaelic, Latin, Greek, Chinese and some of the ancient language of the dragons.” He said, before he could stop himself. He rather took his fine education for granted. However, he was not so naïve to think that all people knew as much as he did and he had been one more the dedicated schoolboys, not that there had been many of them, all those years ago. “I mean to say…” His voice trailed off and he felt his face grow red in embarrassment. It had indeed taken him that long to realize how upper-class and arrogant his declaration of knowing so many languages had sounded to the girl, to Kaylee. “…I liked reading…” He concluded, rather lamely.
He nodded, a shadow of a polite smile on his pale-skinned face, which was not so pale with his current blush. “Yes, it has been.” He admitted, speaking his usual formal, oddly sweet way. “I haven’t ridden a dragon at all.” He added, as if trying to make up for his bragging on his reading and language abilities. He didn’t mention that his horse had been killed and presumably eaten by a manticore. She didn’t need to know that, no one did. No one with a tasteful mind, that was. And Simon had a tasteful mind, to be certain.
“You know,” He started slowly, playing as safely as he was capable after his blunder, the little bit of tact coming back to him in the slightest way, “you know, I’m sure you could show me around your ship sometimes. I’d like that. I miss the sea.” He didn’t miss the sea, of course. He barely knew it, but he missed River more than words could express and he would take any opportunity, no matter how dangerous, to get to her.
tap on my window knock on my door i want to make you feel beautiful i know i know i tend to get so insecure it doesn't matter anymore it's not always rainbows and butterflies it's compromise that moves us along my hardest fool but my door's always open you come anytime you want
