Deimos...
You know that I'm not a smoker, but I'm classified as a passive smoker because of some of my friends and relatives. Even though i dont smoke on choice I'm still a passive.
Saying that we're too lazy or too poor to buy our own cigarettes is generalisation. It's not the case for all of us.

Oh, You mean second-hand smoking? Even though it's on accident the effects can be worse than actually smoking with prolonged exposure. Seeing as they don't have the doubtful benifit of a filter.

One thing, I don't honestly beleive the effects of a passive smoker are as bad because we aren't breathing it straight into our lungs, it mixes with air which dilutes it, You can see it diluting with the air if you were to just watch it. Although I still hate smoking, i just wanted to point that out.

I do believe that there are negative effects. You are breathing it straight into your lungs and it's taking up space that should be used by oxygen. When you're asthmatic or have breathing problems and every iota of oxygen in your lungs is important, being around a bunch of smokers all the time is really not healthy. Bear in mind too that smokers are mixing in the smoke with oxygen as they breathe in. If there was 0 oxygen in every puff, they couldn't breathe at all. I think it depends on where you are, too. Lighting up outside is one thing, but in a bar, a club, a tent (been there, hated that) or any other closed in location, especially if the ventilation is so-so or you aren't the only one doing it, the smoke gets trapped and you end up inhaling as much if not more smoke than if you were actually smoking. Being a waitress in those kinds of places or living with that is no fun.
