In case none of you have figured out, I'm mathematically inept. Go ahead, laugh, tell me I'm a dumb blonde. (But seriously, not all blondes are dumb, I just suck at math, kay?)
So, has all's you heard of making inverse equations?
Basically, I need to get THIS into Y= form:
x-2 = 3^y
How do you get that stinkin' y all by itself if it's the exponent???!!!?

This is the only post I have time for, but I thought I would pop in and be completely unhelpful.
I completely agree with you on the point that not all blondes are dumb, but I would like to point out that you indirectly adopted twin brother was upholding the "dumb blonde" label last night and earlier today.
That's all, hi to all those other math incompetents and those math geniuses out there from my private frequently invaded corner of the goat world.

-flexes her math fingers- ok, here to help! I LOVE math and I'm fairly good at it, so let's give this a try.....
x-2 = 3^y
hmmm...the only way I can think to solve this is by using logs... have you learned about those yet?
*take the log of each side* log(x-2) = y log(3)
*move the log(3) to the other side* log(x-2)/log(3)=y
That's the only way I could think to solve it... unless you could find some way to get the x-2 side to have a base of 3, then you could just set y equal to the exponent on the other side.... anyway, hope that helped. If you have any more math questions just PM me and I will try to help. I'm threw pre-cal at school so if it's anything harder than that I will try but no guarantees... that goes for anyone that needs math help

Oh my god, I completely forgot about logs
