PersonalityPower...Thunderstar is a good leader, no matter what he thinks. Just because he hadn't wanted a postion of power, doesn't mean he wasn't suited to it.
Thunderstar commands the repsect of his fellow Clanmates, and in turn respects them. He has a certain charisma that cannot be denied. Cats listen to him, and find it easy to talk. Loyalty is not a question.
Wisdom... Thunderstar is a smart little guy. He watches and listens, paying attention to even the littlest things. An advantage is always to be found.
Thunderstar never does things halfway. He knows that a good warrior always looks after his Clan, and so he always goes into things with a back up plan, and a fall out for the back up plan.
"Be Prepared" seems to be his mantra.
Thunderstar's thought process is a little different than most. He is conciderate of all, and analyzes that which seems to nothingness. He is a bit of a smart aleck, but is mostly always right.
Love...Thunderstar has a sensitive side, too. He is rather protective of she-cats. It's not that they can't look after themselves; it's just the way he's wired.
Elders are a touchy point with him. He loves them to death; they are wise from age, and have seen things he never will. Becareful what you say about elders around him.
Thunderstar loves his Clan. He loves the cats, the camp, the name, and all of the plants and animals that keep it alive. He loves the territory, and would never leave it for another.
Fury... Thunderstar has a temper. It sort of revolves around elders, she-cats, and his honor. It can be fast and furious, wickedly scary, or it can be cold and creeping, smothering in the ashes, burning coldly, with frigid clarity. Scary in it's way, too.
His anger also has a harsher, even colder aspect. His Clan. He would do anything for the Clan and the cats of the Clan. Things that might not be concidered entirely "kosher".
History-
Kithood-
Thunderstar was born Thunderkit, to the RiverClan warriors Mossflower and Sandclaw. He was the oldest of a litter of three, his younger siblings being Yellowkit, a she-cat, and Littlekit, another she-cat.
As a youngster, Thunderkit got into tons of trouble. He was the "Terror of the River", and as such was punished with an alarming regularity.
-
Apprenticeship-
At the nice and tender age of six moons old, Tunderkit became Thunderpaw, and gained a mentor--the cantankerous old Everfrost.
As an apprentice, Thunderpaw quickly became disillusioned about the life of a warrior, and what it takes to be a warrior.
He became much more serious and thoughtful, taking it upon himself to do whatever he thought was neccessary to becoming the best warrior he could be.
As an apprentice, he saw one battle--a brief skirmish between ThunderClan and RiverClan. RiverClan won, but the battle got Thunderpaw to thinking.
-
Warriordom-
After a long and full apprenticeship--the least of which making friends with his mentor--Thunderpaw was finally made a warrior, and his new name was Thunderstorm.
Soon after being made a warrior, Thunderstorm became something else--a mentor.
His new apprentice was Rainpaw, a pretty little scrap of fur that was too enthusiastic for his liking.
Thunderstorm trained Rainpaw to the best of his ability, and when he and the leader, Ashstar, felt that she was ready, Rainpaw had her warrior ceremony, and Rainpaw became Rainflower.
It was a little bit before Thunderstorm got another apprentice, but get one he did--This time the rambunctious young Greenpaw.
Halfway through Greenpaw's apprenticeship, the old deputy, Gorseclaw, retired.
There was a big uproar over the sudden retirement of Gorseclaw--one elder remarked that he was
so young--and everyone wondered who the new deputy would be.
The favorite was Nightflower, and everyone was surprised when Ashstar announced that Thunderstorm would be the new deputy--most of all Thunderstorm.
-
Deputyship-
Thunderstorm did not want to be leader. So not his gig. And yet, how could he refuse before the whole Clan?
And so, Thunderstorm became deputy. Scary as crap.
Thunderstorm had the backing of the whole Clan, and was helped greatly by his friend and former apprentice Rainflower [although sometimes the help was unwanted]
Greenpaw finished her apprenticeship--earning the warrior name Greenclaw--and left Thunderstorm free of mentorly duties.
Then, the unexpected happened....
-
Leadership-
Ashstar died. The great and venerable leader of RiverClan, who had been around since before the kitting of Thunderstorm's grandparents, had passed away--leaving the deputy to take the leader's place.
Thunderstorm went to the Highstones and spoke with StarClan. He recieved his nine lives--one of which was from a younger looking Ashstar--and took on the name of Thunderstar.
Time has gone by, and Thunderstar is still the leader of RiverClan.
