This was a familiar scene, almost too familiar. Another pub, another Amri leaning against the bar while glugging down yet another heavily alcoholic drink. The exact pub was different, for he almost never went to the same one twice, but it was enough similar for people who knew what he was like when he was drunk to shudder and get as far away as they could. It wasn't necessarily violent occurrences that would happen, but that didn't mean that one wouldn't be scared for your life. At least when he was sober, Amri was somewhat predictable; he always wanted to kill and get stronger. But when he was intoxicated...no one would ever know what he wanted.
"You know...what would life be like if I stopped and...I dun...start a farm or somethin'..." he said to the bartender. Only 'said' wasn't exactly the right word, it was more of a drawl that changed tones more rapidly than time. He smacked his lips as the man he was speaking to just nodded. "But...I got a halberd that needs takin' care of...can't just...abandon it...Banryuu...must have what it wants...."
He blinked his eyes as the world wobbled around him. Everything was slightly fuzzy around the edges...what the hell? Then he burst into laughter, and as if something was possessing him, he just randomly decided to reach back and removed the string that kept his hair tied in a braid, letting his long, wavy black hair cascade down his back. Then he chuckled again and put his glass down, scanning the room with his cat-like blue eyes. Only now they weren't as intense as they usually were, nor were his eyebrows firmly set in representation of either anger or determination, as was the usual. His face, normally set in stone, was now open to suggestions.
As he gazed about the room, he caught the eye of something...someone, a man...much taller than he was. Wait, what color was his hair? Amri blinked again and tried to focus. Oh, so it wasn't brown, it was blonde. He smirked and walked over to the man, his step lacking its usual strut. Then he put a hand on the mans shoulder and leaned over him.
"Um...what are you doing?"
Amri smirked heavily at him and said throatily, "What does it look like I'm doing?"
The man's eyes widened and he hastily stood up, knocking Amri, whose balance had already been teetering, to the ground. He got away as quickly as he could.
"Hey man, don't be so cruel," Amri shouted to him as he tried to stand up again but failed as he couldn't tell the difference between up and down. "Harsh," he muttered, finally using a chair to right himself, then wobbling back to the bar, including his glass, which he took another big swig of.
"See...that's why I can't stop...Banryuu is the only one who isn't cruel...it deserves my full attention..."
It was going to be a long night.

This was a place she had never been before, a place she never thought she would go to. This place was called a pub, and Violet Alexander, a princess at that, certainly wouldn't be allowed here. She didn't mean to decieve her parents, but she was curious about what it was like and so, she made her way to that place that was far enough from her home that people might not recognize her. Of course how could they the way she was dressed. She had her hair tied in a ponytail, which she does a lot, but her clothes were a bit, dressed down, for a princess. She didn't want to seem too rich, but she did look higher than anyone who was in that bar, most likely.
She slowly reached for the door, touching it with as less of her hand she could, because she didn't know who touched it, and opened it just enough so she could walk in. She let the door close behind her as she looked around. How disgusting? She thought to herself as she scanned the room. One thing stuck out though, and that was this black haired boy who had a big ass sword sitting right next to him. She raised an eyebrow and started to walk over, before the boy waltzed over to some random man and tried to talk to him with his hand on the mans shoulder.
When the man jerked away from the boy, she gave a confused look and watched as the boy went back to his drink. Is he gay? She wondered watching for a moment before actually going over to him like she planned before. She sat a couple seats away from him at the bar and looked in his direction.
"See...that's why I can't stop...Banryuu is the only one who isn't cruel...it deserves my full attention..." Violet choked a bit as she let out a laugh. "Wow. So you're gay and you're obssessed with a sword. How awkward is that?" She stated in a mocking tone. She shook her head as she started to scan the room again instead of looking at the boy. "What a loser." She said giggling to herself.

Amri squinted his eyes closed and then opened them again as he heard the high-pitched sound in his ear. What was that? It was different from the other sounds...more...melodical, which was odd in a pub, where he was used to the sights and sounds. And it was...directed towards him? That was odd...he turned his head to search for where it had come from, but in the process, lost his balance again and slipped. Cursing, he used Banryuu to pull himself up, and it was then that he caught sight of whom he guessed the sound had come from...a girl, who didn't look she quite belonged.
"Ima wha?" he asked as he let more alcohol slip down his throat. What had she called him again? And what had she said about Banryuu? "My sword is..." He stopped and blinked again, looking at the great halberd right next to him, "Big...it's big." He lifted up a hand to ruffle the bangs of his eyes, scratching his head as he did so. Wait...was Banryuu big? He looked at it again...it was bigger than him at least, reaching far above him...why was he looking at it? Oh yes, someone said something about it.
He looked at the girl again, only this time more closely...well, as closely as he could with his vision blurred. She was definitely a girl. And she stood out from all the other drunk or drinking men, which made the majority of the people in here, if not all of them. He put his hands down on the table and tried to focus on her to get more details, but all he could really tell was that she was very light.
"Your hair is preeeeeeetty," he said as he cocked his head and smiled like a little boy.

As she continued to scan the room, she met the gaze of the man who the boy was around before. He was giving a weird look in their direction. She wrinkled her nose a bit. He was definitely weird and kind of scary looking too. She didn't like the sight of him, but obviously this boy next to her did.
Violet turned her gaze back to the boy as he started to speak. She looked him up and down and gave him a confused look. He was quite handsome, but not her type. He was a filthy peasant in her eyes, and he wouldn't dream of touching her. Not to mention, she was still under the impression that he was gay.
"A loser. That's what I called you." She shook her head. He was obviously too drunk to comprehend anything that escaped from her lips. So this is what it was like in a pub? People get drunk, and do stupid things. Gay people try to find love or maybe just a hook up. This was just weird in her eyes and she probably was never going to return to this kind of place after tonight. Everything was weird already.
Violet looked at the boy disgusted as he mentioned his sword. Yes it was big. She could obviously see that. It was right there in front of her. "Yes, I see that you idiot. I'm not blind." She was acting quite mean, but she didn't care. She never cared for the peasants around her. They weren't worth her time and the boy was lucky she was wasting any of her time talking to him.
She looked at the Blonde man once more to notice his gaze was on her now. Maybe he thought that she knew this boy who tried to hook up with him. Well, if that was what he thought he was most definitely wrong. She shook her head at the man and looked once more to the boy as he made reference to her hair.
She raised an eyebrow once more. Was he serious? She knew her hair was pretty, but that was just a random, and totally unexpected thing to say and she didn't like it. "I know it is and much better than you're rat's nest, if I must say so myself." She smirked at the boy. She didn't even know his name. Did she really need to know? She let out a small sigh. Maybe she should find out, even if she didn't care. Just in case she needed it later on. "What is your name boy?" She asked in an unpleasant tone.

Amri couldn't help but burst into loud laughter. Something about what she had just said was hilarious. She had called him a loser, but he had never lost once in his life! Didn't being a loser require that he had lost? He put on a serious face...or was that something else? Wait...lose...er...that was a funny word. It was like the word her, except the h was changed into lose. He chuckled again as he thought how accurate that was. So she thought he was a girl who had lost? Ha! "I'll prove to you I'm a boy..."
"I'm not blind."
Amri scoffed. If she couldn't tell that he was a boy, then she must have been blind. Sure, his hair was long and gorgeous, but his cheeks, chin, and eyes were intricately refined in the way only an Arabian man could be. He didn't think he looked very feminine...just to be sure, he lifted up his glass and looked at his reflection. He hadn't recently been bewitched, he was still him. That was very good, he liked him, and he liked being a boy as well. Yes, he would prove it...he pulled at the sash around his waist with his hand.
Then she distracted him by asking him what his name was. He furrowed his eyebrows and thought. The first name that popped up to him was Banryuu...but that didn't seem quite right. Wait...no, he knew it! "I am Amri Ban Amatzya!" he shouted loud enough that everyone in the room would be able to hear. Then he snickered and looked at the girl again, "Your name Bubble?" A good natured grin came onto his face, when it dropped into a look of pure horror when he saw the blonde man behind her. He...knew him...
"He abused me!" Amri shouted as he toppled off his stool yet again, only this time he made no attempt to get up. Instead, he grabbed Banryuu and used it as a shield, then knocked down what he had been sitting on and used it for a barrier on his other side. He was quivering with fear...only he was actually quivering with too much alcohol consumption. His blue eyes that were normally perceptive and flirtatious were now big and wide, and completely dopey.

Violet got off of her seat and moved one more seat away as he started to laugh. What was so funny about what she had said? This boy was weird and she wanted to be away from him. Possibly as much as that blonde man had wanted to be, but at least this boy wasn't trying to hook up with her.
She started to grow disturbed when he wanted to prove he was a boy. She didn't say anything about him not being a boy, did she? Her eyes widened slightly and she shook her head with a disturbed look placed upon her face. "No! Keep your pants on! No one wants to see that you disgusting pervert!" She shouted. She knew everyone in there could hear her, but she didn't care.
Then he started to mess with the sash around his waist. She closed her eyes quickly and turned away, just in case he did... you know.. drop his pants. Fortunately, he stopped and she could tell he did, when he shouted his name. She peeked over her shoulder to see if he was clothed and then turned back around when she noticed he was.
So his name was Amri Ban Amatzya? Weird name, but ok. She now had his name, which she only needed his first, the rest she didn't care for. She rolled her eyes at him. "No, my name is not Bubble. Gosh are you stupid or something?" She sighed slightly as she shifted a bit in her seat. "My name is Violet... Violet Alexander." She said it proudly, because she was a princess, but then again, giving her last name, might've just told everyone in the pub that she was a Princess, and rich at that. She looked around to see if anyone was paying attention. She could see that the blonde man was still staring at them. She was officially creeped by him.
Suddenly she heard a thump as Amri fell off of his chair. He was talking about how the blonde man abused him. Was he serious? Or was he just too drunk that he was making up crap? He was shaking and it scared her a bit. "Ummm Amri, are you alright?" She said not too concerned, but in a whisper, because she was not only scared, but embarrassed that she was talking to a boy who was acting this way. She looked towards the blonde man and then got up and went over to Amri. "Stop making things up! You're making a fool of yourself!" She yelled not truly sure if he was telling the truth or not. She didn't really know how to handle him and what if that blonde guy came over. She was scared of him as it was.

"You can't get me now!" Amri shouted to the blonde man, hiccuping once. He reached up with one hand to try and grab his glass, but succeeded only in knocking what was left in it onto himself, coating the top of his head with the sticky substance. Confused and angry, like a little kid who had been denied a 'treat,' he stuck out his tongue to try and grab a couple of the drops that were now dripping from his bangs, but it wasn't nearly as satisfying as taking a huge gulp like he usually did.
As desperately tried to salvage each delectable and miniscule morsel, he hit his head hard on the side of the bar. Normally, in this situation, he would've yelled, 's***!' Only, now, it seemed everything 'big bad killer' about him has disappeared and all that remained was the part that was less known about him...the vague innocence that he kept deep within his heart, the wonder and awe. "Oww!" he shouted as be began to massage his head, now rubbing the liquid further into his hair. He was going to be sticky tomorrow, but now all he was thinking about was that he might have an unsightly bump on his noggin later.
He grinned a large grin at the girl as she told him to get up. Now why would he get up? His fortress was impenetrable! The blonde man would never hurt him again! Or maybe she was scared of him herself and wanted him to come out so he would protect her..."No worries!" he said, reaching over and using his hands to grab her up and lift her over the stool and into his mini 'shelter.' "Now you're safe! Sing with me! Row, row, row your..." Amri frowned as he looked downwards, eyebrows furrowing, "floor, gently down the stream! Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily..."
He burst into chuckles again as he couldn't sing past 'merrily' and leaned backwards onto her and grinned again.

Violet looked back at the blonde man once more as Amri yelled at him. She took a step towards the boy while she kept her gaze on the man. She wanted to get out of that place, but could she really leave Amri the way he was? And what if that man did do what Amri was accusing him of doing? But how could that be true when he was around that man when she walked in? She was so confused at this moment.
She gasped a bit as the boy hit his head on the bar. She winced as she looked back at him. It must of hurt him, and it hurt her a bit, just hearing the connection of the two. Something was wrong with this boy. He was acting like a.... a baby. She truly had no clue what to do with him. Should she take him outside? Maybe he just needed some air. Maybe she shouldn't have come that night. Why did everything happen when she was around?
When he grinned, that told her that he was obviously fine. She placed her hands on her hips and glarred down at him. Her eyes widened when he grabbed onto her, and she let a small scream as she was practically thrown behind him. She sat in shock for a moment before she shook her head slightly. "What's your problem?" She yelled before he started to sing. She looked as everyone was now staring at them. This was the weirdest night she had ever had.
Violet looked at him confused. Was he always like this when he got drunk? Then, he leaned on her. She pushed him off and scooted away. She now knew that she deffinitely shouldn't have come. She stood up and brushed herself off. "You have some serious problems!" She crossed her arms as she felt slightly uncomfortable now.
She suddenly grew curious as she looked down at him. She had never experienced this sort of thing and she wondered if life out of the castle was always like this. She looked around once more before she rolled her eyes. "Bore rhymes with floor Amri." She looked away. "Merrily Merrily Merrily Merrily, life is but a bore." She didn't know if it would make him feel better and really she didn't care. She just wanted this to end.

"Problems have I!" he shouted, trying to sound like a minstrel, but obviously, utterly failing, "let me count the ways!" He threw a sneer at the blonde-haired man and then tried to look serious again as he counted under his breath. 1...2...buckle my shoe...did he have problems buckling his shoes? He looked down at his feet, oh right, he didn't wear shoes, he was just wearing the cloth so he wouldn't have to step on bare ground. He snickered when he looked at his bare toes showing and then he wiggled them. No, he definitely did not have problems buckling hie shoes! Take that world!
He turned around and faced Violet while sitting criss-cross. He felt just like a little kid...only something was missing. He frowned, and started to pout as he tried to figure out what it was. He had his fort, he was the hero, he had a princess, and a bad guy...OH! Quickly, as if the world depended on how fast he completed this action, he stood up and took the cloth cover off of Banryuu, then used the glass that had fallen on the ground to hold it at the top on the bar so that he had made somewhat of a roof over his fortress. Only...it wasn't that wide, only about two feet. He frowned again, but a big grin came to himself as he pulled off the metal armor that went around his chest and his left shoulder. Now he pulled off his shirt, which, in reality was a long white cloth with a splotch of blue at one point. He used this to make the roof above Violet, and then he smiled at her, not really paying attention to the fact that his bare, extremely muscular and toned chest was showing.
"Now we can play house! You can be the mommy and I can be the daddy and I just come home from work!"

Violet raised an eyebrow at the boy again. Something didn't add up. She wondered what Amri had gone through throughout his life. Something had to have caused his actions. It was obvious he wasn't like this all the time. Or was he? She didn't really know, which made her so much more curious.
She looked down at his feet as he did and she watched what he did. He was just staring at them and then he wiggled them. She wondered about what he was thinking, and for some reason she wanted to know, but she wasn't going to ask.
Violet stared at him as he started to make a roof over his fort. She cocked her head a bit at his actions. She was even more confused now. She was really curious about why he was acting this way. Maybe since he was drunk she could get it out of him, but should she pry about something that wasn't her business? Was she really caring? She looked down. She had asked him what was his problem, but now she was wondering what her problem was? She shook her head to get her thoughts out of her head when Amri put his shirt over her like a roof.
She looked back up at the boy. She waved her hands in front of her. "No. Let's not play house." She said firmly, making sure he understood she meant it. She didn't want to play anything with him. Especially not here. She backed out of the fort, but kept her gaze on Amri. "Come on. You need to get out of there and off the floor."

The grin slipped off Amri's face as she told him they couldn't play house. But he wanted to, he never had before. Something told him that playing house was fun. With a mommy and a daddy...what more could one want? He had never really had either. What was it like? He desperately wanted to know. "But...you can be the mom," he said quietly, head starting to face downwards. It had been so fun before, until she had said 'No.' He hated that word, and denied it's existence.
He was going to sit there sadly some more, when the blonde man came up to the fort and ripped off Banryuu's cover, the part that was over Amri. He glowered up at the much bigger man, expression almost unreadable, but definitely angry.
"Hey, you, you've had your fun, and we already know you're not into girls, so why don't you hand her over to me?"
Amri glared up at him, he really was the bad guy! And he had abused him! But in this story he was the hero, and he wouldn't let the bad guy even capture the princess. Little did Amri's mind know that although in his head this was all a game, everything taking place was very real. It was confusing, but even though the alcohol had stripped him of everything that made him him, his arms still knew their strength, even though his consciousness didn't.
"No!" he shouted, grabbing the handle of Banryuu and picking up the nine-foot long sword with one hand. With one well-aimed swing of the great blade, he easily sliced the man in half at the waist. His body obviously still knew how to fight. He heard someone cry out, and realized that they must have been in the bad guys' hideout...everyone was after them! He grabbed his shirt and Banryuu's cover, though he didn't have enough time to slip it on, so he slung both pieces of cloth on his shoulder and let Banryuu rest there too. With his free hand, he grabbed the hand of the girl.
"Let's go!" he shouted, side-stepping the man's dead body as he pulled Violet out the door. It was amazing that he could balance, but then again, his body had always known when it was time to cooperate.

Violet watched the grin from his face drift away. She had made him upset. She looked away for a moment. "I don't want to play Amri." She said to his comment about her being the mom as she looked back to him. His head was downcasted.
Soon enough the blonde man came over and took off the cover. She glared at him, feeling anger grow inside of her. He had no right to do that. Then he said that Amri should hand her over to him. Her eyes widened slightly as she backed away. She was already scared of the man already, and now he wanted her. "N..no." She said slightly studdering, feeling like she wanted to cry, just because the man thought of her that way.
It happened all so quick after that. Amri had yelled at the man and when he cut the man in half in front of her she let out a scream and tears really did start to leave her eyes. She never thought she would experience the death of someone, especially the way that man was dying.
She felt herself being jerked as Amri grabbed her hand and ran out the door with her. When they were outside she jerked away from him. "How could you do that?" She screamed. Her thoughts were filled with the image of the man. She was scared and now she wanted to go home or at least have someone from her family there with her. Peregrine would even be able to calm her, even though she hated him.
Her breathing grew heavier as she backed up into the wall and slid down it, burrying her face in her hands. She started to slightly shake from the fear of it all. She knew what happened during a war. She knew people were killed, but never had she had to see any of it. Nothing was scarier than the image she had just consumed. "Why did you do that?" She said softer than before, looking up from her hands with tears still running out of her eyes as she continued to shake.

Amri's face turned to hurt as she wrenched away from him and started crying. He didn't understand, why did she hate him now? He was the hero. That guy was the bad guy. The heroes always killed the bad guys...right? He furrowed his eyebrows and tried to remember when he had read a fairytale, and then remembered he couldn't read. The jolt of electricity he had received when he had chopped the man in half had made his mind think clearer, but it was obvious to anyone that had known him that he was still completely not himself. If he had been himself, he wouldn't have cared if the man had tried to take her.
"Isn't that how it's supposed to go?" he asked, edging closer to her and wishing she would stop crying. He wiped the blood off of Banryuu and slipped its purple cover back on, and then re-wrapped his shirt around himself and sat down on the ground. No one as chasing after them, so he didn't have to worry about the bad guy's minions. But now, seeing her sad made him feel like a weight had been dropped into his stomach. What had he done wrong? he scootched slightly closer to her.
"Were you scared? It's okay, you're safe now," he told her, still sounding like a little kid. Of course, right now, this was all a game to him. They were playing 'Hero Rescuing the Princess From the Bad Guy.' Only, he hadn't thought it would end this way. Shouldn't she be happy? Hadn't he saved her? He didn't like that she was crying. Had he messed up the game? It was his first time playing and now nothing was going as he thought it would!

Violet's gaze stayed locked on Amri's face. He was sad that she was crying. Well, he should feel that way. He had just killed someone right in front of her! He was wrong to do that, whether he was in front of her or not. She wondered how different it would be if he was completely sober. She was thankful to be away from that man, but she didn't understand how he could kill that man just like that.
She shook her head at him. "No Amri, that's not how it's supposed to go!" She yelled once more, looking down at the ground as she rested her head on one hand that was propped on her knees. She was trying to calm down, but what had just happened would always stay with her, like a mental scar of some sort.
When he scooted closer she quickly scooted further away and looked to him again. "Just stay where you are. I don't want you any closer to me right now." She stated in a firm voice. It was the truth, she didn't want him close to her. In fact she was afraid of him right now. What if that was her? The one he decided to kill? She didn't even know how to handle this. She wasn't mentally prepared.
"Yes I was scared and I don't know if I'm safe now." She said looking at him with fear still upon her face. "Seeing what you did, does not make me feel safe. How do I know you won't do that to me?" She looked away from the boy and scooted a few more inches away from him, just for a safe distance. Her shaking seemed to have stopped, but she was still scared and she was trying to get the image out of her head, but no matter how she tried, it would not go away.

Amri quickly shrunk back as she demanded him to stay away, looking like a puppy who had just been scolded. She said she didn't feel safe, but how could she not feel safe when she had a strong man like him with a sword bigger than himself to protect her? Had he really done the game wrong? He had been so sure that the heroes killed the bad guys...now he felt like shrinking up into a little ball and hiding in his fortress, only he couldn't go back to it, or the minions would get him.
"I'm sorry I messed it up," he said softly as he hung his head. He was thinking now that this was the part where the hero should ride off with the princess into the sunset, only that obviously wasn't going to happen, not when she didn't even want to come near him. Maybe he shouldn't have killed the bad guy in front of her, maybe he should've sent her running away first. Then she asked him how she would knew that he wouldn't do that to her, and he pulled his head back in shock, "But...you're the princess! The hero doesn't kill the princess, he's kills the bad guy, or there wouldn't be a happy ending."
He started to reach a hand over to try and wipe away her tears, but then remembered she said she didn't want him near her, so he paused, and then pulled back entirely. He put on his armor again, in case they were attacked by anyone, and as he did so, he thought of something. He undid one of the cloth-things that he kept around one of his hands and tossed it to her, and then looked away quickly, hoping she would just use it, so she wouldn't have the tears on her face any longer.
"Do you want to find a place to stay? You shouldn't have to sleep outside," he asked quietly.
