"If I feel like killing, I will, or have you forgotten?" He smirked harder, doubting that she would forget. How many people had he killed right in front of her? He stopped to count. One...two...dammit! What comes after two? Oh well, it was more than two and less than the amount of his fingers, whatever that was. He furrowed his eyebrows...what was that number? Well, what numbers did he know? He knew one, two, five, four, and nine, those were the important numbers in his life. He didn't need any more than that, did he?
However, the somewhat innocent and child-like expression he had on his face while counting disappeared as his eyes flashed at her, "You're going to help me if I say you're going to, or do you want me to have to resort to brute force?" He meant every word of it, for this time he wouldn't let her get away. Maybe she didn't want to, but since when did her opinion matter? As long as he got what he wanted, he didn't care what happened to her, at least, that was what he was telling himself.
He burst into laughter when Pearl mentioned calling the guards. How naiive was this girl? It was rather hard to believe that she and Violet were related. At least Violet had figured out that big sword equaled skilled killer. A couple of guards were nothing, a warm-up. "Unless you really don't like your guards, I wouldn't suggest doing that." The smirk came back onto his face, where it rightfully belonged. No, they were trapped, and he really owed it to her ditzy cousin. He might've lost them if he had tried to go after them. He had an annoyingly content look upon his face.

Violet's glare hardened. Of course she hasn't forgotten, but she certainly wasn't letting it bother her anymore. He did scare her, she wasn't going to lie, but she was too hard-headed to let it show. "I haven't forgotten your despicable behavior." How could anyone forget the death of someone right before their eyes? It just didn't disappear with a snap of your finger.
She shifted uneasily as he spoke of brute force. Her thoughts went to her cousin, whom stood right behind her. She wasn't going to let anything happen to her, but at the same time she didn't want to give into him. "And what exactly are you planning to do if I say no? Brute force isn't always the answer. It can make things worse. If you hurt my family, I won't help you, nor will I ever help you again. Get the picture?" She crossed her arms over her chest.
Violet glanced back at her cousin when she spoke of the guards, but her glare returned to Amri when he made a comment about what she had said. "The guards can't do anything Pearl. Trust me when I say that." She looked serious when she said that. It was true. Their guards were strong when it came to people on the streets, but she didn't believe they could handle Amri. Just like her, they weren't physically strong enough.
She thought about what was happening at the moment. If she hadn't have reacted like she did, they wouldn't be there right now. They probably would have been far away from him. She couldn't help it though. She couldn't stand him at the moment, so who could blame her for wanting to be as far away from him as she could possibly be.

Pearl's eyes widened when Violet told her the guards couldn't help. But...they always helped. They were the guards of the palace! There was nothing they couldn't do...right? What kind of guards would they be if they couldn't help her in any situation her life could come up with? They had been born for it! That simple statement seemed to tilt Pearl's world upside down. She had always believed that, as royalty, she was literally untouchable. Stories about princesses getting capture or stuff were just that...stories...it couldn't possibly be true. But the more she looked at Amri, the more she became uneasy. He was shorter than her, and she couldn't exactly tell what his body build was for his strange baggy clothes, but she could guess that he was extremely muscled. And that sword...she had noticed it before, but she had assumed be was a knight on their side...know he was something to be feared. And he said that he had actually killed people before, and probably not the bad guys...no wonder she had thought his eyes were alarming before. He was one of their enemies!
Her hands flew up to her chest as she ducked her head slightly from where she stood behind Violet. "I'm scared, just do what he says," she whispered quietly. That was what her parents had told her to do, say, do, or promise whatever would ensure that she didn't get hurt. But this wasn't only for her sake, she knew how hard-headed Violet could be at times, but all Pearl wanted was to get out of this unhurt, and to get back to the castle. She didn't need to look strong, she already knew she wasn't, and she was perfectly fine with that.

She got him there. What would he do if she refused? He could force her to come with him, he could sling her over his shoulder like a feather, but he couldn't actually make her talk. He blinked several times and looked downwards, trying to think hard, but it was hurting his head. Thinking did that to him, which was why he tried to avoid it most of the time, letting his muscles do the talking. After all, brawn did win out in most situations, at least the ones he always found himself in. But then again, if he had brains, he wouldn't be needing her help at all. It was because he got confused whenever he tried to think about that night that he was here in the first place.
"Well..." he began, but stopped when he couldn't think of anything to say. He had hoped that if he started talking the right words would just come out, but alas, the world was not that kind to him. Of course, he hadn't really been expecting it to be. The world had always found a way to spite him, just because he chose to live a different life than everyone else. He didn't want to be weak, but he didn't want power either, at least, not the kind everyone else wanted. He had no desire to be king or to live forever.
"Dammit," he muttered, pout starting to come onto his face. He shuffled Banryuu on his shoulder again, but this time it was out of frustration. Then he finally thought of something to say, "I want you to help me." What? Expecting something more? So far, it was the most polite thing he had said, so it was an improvement, and things didn't get much better than that.

Was Pearl serious? She wanted her to just give up and do whatever he said. Well, that was deffinitely not going to happen. She knew Violet better than that. She didn't give in to people who threatened her or anyone for that matter. "Pearl why don't you go back over to the guards. I can handle this." It would probably be the best thing for all of them, if she was out of the way. She couldn't have her cousin scared, and in the way.
Violet let a smirk come to her lips when Amri couldn't tell her what he would do. Apparently he wasn't smart enough to figure something out. That's probably why he needed her to help him. This was just proof that brains were better than brawn. She couldn't help but feel proud of herself right now, no matter how mean it was. "Can't think of anything?" She teased as she let her hands move to her hips.
She slightly shook her head at him as he let out a small cuss word. He was having so much trouble just trying to figure out what he would do to her. She wondered how someone so cruel could have no clue in the world. Her eyebrow raised when he said he wanted her to help him. She felt that she should, but at the same time, he wasn't the right person to help and she couldn't just agree to help out of no where. "How does it feel to want?" She asked him, tilting her head to the side slightly. She wasn't going to give in without a fight. He was going to have to do what he probably dreaded the most. She was going to make him beg.

Pearl couldn't help but giggle slightly as she looked at Amri, the expression on his face was funny. However, she was smart enough to know to cover her mouth so he wouldn't be able to see. It was now drilled into her mind that he could kill her, but he could kill Violet too, and she wouldn't let that happen. She was the princess, and along with the ability to buy anything she wanted came responsibility. Nothing bad was going to happen if she had anything to say about it. The least she could do was not leave them alone.
"No Violet, I'm older. He'll do something to you if I leave." They were stronger together, and he couldn't possibly be planning to do something to both of them. And if he kidnapped them or something like that, it would be easier to escape with two of them. Plus, she knew how much she would be worrying about Violet if she left. For once, she had to be brave, but when it was for her family, it didn't seem as grueling a task. She set her face in a firm expression.
Now it seemed like they were in control again. What he wanted...whatever that was, seemed to be in Violet's hands. Well, that was good news. She stood just a little taller, and brought her chin upwards, confident that she could handle this. She had been taught how to handle political situations, and this was close enough. As long as they didn't make any sudden movements and Violet eventually gave him what he had come for, she was sure they would escape unscathed. Her eyes were clear and diplomatic. When her family was involved, she meant business.

His eyes flickered angrily as she teased him. He hated to be the object of whatever game she was playing in her head...he should just rip it off, how he would love to do that. It had always worked in the past. If didn't like something, that something would then cease to exist. He was sure she was used to making fools of people, being a princess, but she wouldn't succeed with him. Right now, he was just pissed at her and everything else because, for once, Banryuu couldn't help him. He was sure it was hurting Banryuu as well, for the last people he had killed had been with his hands.
"I don't like it." She sure was treading on dangerous ground. He would've thought that she had figured out how incredibly short his temper was by now. He kept on looking downwards, not wanting to see the smug look he knew would be on her face. He was breathing hard and he knew he was growling slightly in the back of his throat. He was trying to remain calm for the sake of getting the information out of her, about whatever strange disease or disorder he had, but it was getting progressively harder. This was one of those throw-Banryuu-to-the-ground-and-grab-her-by-the-forearm moments, but that wasn't an option now.
He was starting to shake now as he tried to hold his anger in. Anyone who knew him well would know that this was the pre-action to a violent outburst, unless someone succeeding in calming him down, which rarely happened. Calming him down took skills, the type of skills it would take to settle a raging bull or a mother bear. He was going to crack soon, he knew it, he just didn't know at what.

Violet sighed angrily, but this time it was directed towards her cousin. "No Pearl, it doesn't matter if you're here or not. He does whatever he wants." She paused to glance at her. "If he can that is." She turned back to Amri and crossed her arms once more. She didn't know how she was going to handle this situation if Pearl stayed. She really wanted her to go, just in case.
She raised an eyebrow as Amri admitted to not liking it. She knew that he wouldn't. Nobody likes to want. She studied him as he kept his head down. She wondered why he was doing that. Maybe it was because he was trying not to look at her. Or he was holding something in. She didn't know, and something told her she didn't want to know.
Then, right in front of her, he started to shake. She backed up a bit and let her arms fall to her side. Right then, she couldn't help but feel slightly sorry for him. Her glare turned into concern, like it had when he had gotten hurt. She didn't know why she felt sorry for him, when he had made her so angry. She took a deep breath and then let it out as she stepped closer again.
"Amri, please calm down." She said, touching his shoulder softly. She couldn't believe the words she was speaking, but maybe it would help the situation. Maybe if she just stayed calm instead of being her hard-headed self, this wouldn't be happening. She then let the words that she thought she wouldn't say to him slip out of her lips. "I'm sorry." She didn't know what she was sorry for, but she was. Maybe it was for teasing him, who knew?

What was wrong with Violet? Now she was getting mad at her and feeling sorry for this violent peasant? There was no reason to get angry at her! She was trying to help, more so than him at least. She had more or less thought she and her cousin were on the same page, but evidently not. Evidently this was all some show just so she could go away and leave them alone. She bet he wasn't a killer at all, the sword was just made of wood. How could Violet deceive her like that? She had thought they could share anything.
She huffed, not quite believing what she was seeing. Sure, maybe Diana or Peregrine would touch a filthy peasant, but not Violet. She came to the conclusion that something was wrong with her. Well, Pearl certainly wasn't going to stay if she wasn't welcome. Let Violet run off with some weird boy with weird hair, she wasn't going to stop her. Why would she stay when she could go off and actually have some fun? And if it turned out that Violet got captured than Pearl would lean back and say she had it coming for her.
She regretted thinking that last thought, but all the same, she huffed once again and stormed away through the crowd and back to the guards, of course in a graceful, refined manner. He raised her chin when she stepped in front of the guards. "I want to go home now. Violet is staying but she'll be fine by herself. Apparently she's with a friend." She tossed her head slightly as she was escorted back to the carriage, but she turned back with a worried look on her face, hoping that Violet was actually safe.

That was it, Amri was fed up with playing her games. It was obvious she wasn't going to tell him anything. She was just going to mess around with him, almost like she knew he wasn't allowed to kill her. Or had she just grown so confident that she thought he didn't want to? Well, she'd sure be stupid to think that. He wanted to throw her to the ground and punch her, but at the same time, it was the last thing he wanted to do. It was rather, actually, extremely irritating. He shrugged her hand off his shoulder and glared down at her.
"You know what? I don't care anymore! You can go do whatever you want and I'll go die of whatever disease I have in some dark corner of the world!" He threw her an extremely dirty look and swirled around, "Cause I'm not going to go chasing after you just because you have nothing else better to do than waste my time!" He took Banryuu down from his shoulder and held it in front of him as he pushed his way through the crowd...anything to get away from her.
He would probably regret this. He was still under the impression that he was suffering from some disorder that was going to weaken him and eventually kill him, but, as always, his temper was in more control than he was. But if anything, it was surprising that this was all he was doing. In other situations, people had lost their lives because of it. But he didn't really feel like killing anything, he more felt the need to break or smash something. Well, breaking things was good too, but first, he wanted to get as far away as possible.

Violet watched her cousin leave. She hoped that she wouldn't be too mad at her. She didn't think she would though. They usually got over things, no matter how bad. They were close like that. She kept her gaze in that direction until the carriage was out of sight. It was best for her to not get involved with Amri. So, her cousin being mad at her was worth the fact that she was safe.
She looked back to Amri when he shrugged off her hand and glared at her. She stood there as he yelled at her and then glared back. When he turned and started to leave she shook her head and turned away herself. "Fine. If he wants to be that way, he can! I don't care!" She thought to herself as she stomped off in the opposite direction. Now she saw that she pushed her cousin away for no reason. After all that, he ended up leaving without getting any information from her. Right now, she probably couldn't be angrier, with herself and Amri.
