Pearl raised her nose slightly as a young boy in rags scampered past her. He had not gotten close enough to soil her dress but she had seen how filthy he was. Even worse, he hadn't acknowledged her. A couple of guards behind her started to move forward, but she waved them away. There was no need to punish a little boy, however, if he had been older, she would've demanded that she show him the respect she deserved. She expected the people to love her, for she was their princess, and one that anyone could be proud of.
She sighed slightly, deciding not to think about it. To let something as small as that ruin her mood would be a pity, and she was planning to have a lovely time browsing through the marketplace. Most of the trinkets and articles of clothing she found were just cheap, but every once in awhile she would find something that delighted her eye and she would instruct one of her guards to purchase it. Unlike many of the girls in her family, she didn't trust servants to do her shopping for her, and it was quite nice to go out and receive the adoration of many people. She lived for it.
She was doing just that when in the corner of her eye she caught sight of something shiny. Her feet led her to a small stand that was held by a woman in her thirty-somethings, who was fairly decent looking, but she had a rather large nose. She was obviously pleased that the eldest princess had decided to come over to her very humble shop. She bowed her head.
"Greetings, your highness."
Pearl ignored her as she lifted up a delicate chain, for it was what had attracted her attention. Small glass beads in the festive colors of red and orange that Pearl loved were interlaced in a triangular net that ended with the blossom of a single flower. It somewhat miffed the fact that the beads were glass instead of gems, but she was about to buy it anyway when she noticed that the flower was silver. Eirian meant silver. Her twin hated her right now. To be wearing silver would be like...apologizing, and Pearl was not sorry. she tossed it back down as a delicate frown came over her face.
"Use different material next time, I prefer gold," she said haughtily as she stormed away.

Violet walked through the marketplace, two guards following close behind her. Sometimes she liked to just walk around the place, maybe look at some of the trinkets. A lot of the people around this area disgusted her though. She would never be caught enjoying herself with one of them. The only one she has met that she actually talked to was a sceithian mercenary. Amri was his name.
She wrinkled her nose at the thought of the boy. Such an arrogant asshole. She couldn't stand him, but at the same time she was willing to help him and just talk to him. Right now, if she saw him again she would probably... Oh who was she kidding. She couldn't do anything to him. Physically, he was too strong for her, and could kill her without any thought.
Nearing a stand, Violet spotted someone she knew. It was her cousin, Pearl. A smile came to her face and she happily waltzed over to where she stood. When she got closer, she stopped noticing that her cousin was telling the lady to choose different material. She rolled her eyes and giggled to herself. Her cousin was crazy to even think of walking up to the stand in the first place, so she should've known the necklace would not be to her liking.
"You're very cruel and you're a poor excuse for a princess." She said in a snobbish, but mocking tone, trying to act like a peasant. She couldn't help, but laugh after that. One, she could never be a peasant, and two it was hard to be so serious around her cousins, at least the girls. Pandion was fine to mess with sometimes, but Peregrine was just.. there were no words for him. She could not stand that boy and she didn't know how they were related to him.
Violet was close to all of her girl cousins. They understood eachother and were always messing around. Not to mention, they all had the same taste when it came to fashion. The only girl in the family who didn't understand fashion was her sister Diana, but they got around that most of the time.

Pearl raised her eyebrows when she heard the voice. Who would dare say something like that to her? Not that their opinion mattered, but who would want to hurt her like that? She was the eldest princess! And she hadn't done anything mean, she had been telling a lowly peasant how to make more money so that the country would become more prosperous. She was just about to swirl around and demand the guards arrest that person, when she wondered why is sounded so familiar, very familiar. She cocked her head and turned around more slowly.
"Vi!" she exclaimed, putting one hand to her chest, "you had me worried there for a second." Of course it was her cousin. A real peasant would never say something like that to her, she was too beloved. Violet was always good for poking fun of things and making her laugh. She loved her cousins, and ever since she had grown farther apart from Eirian, she had gotten closer to them. Except Diana of course, who was a little bit odd, but there was one in every family, like Peregrine was to hers. But the three girls who were her same age were not only family, but her best friends, and Peter was always a joy to listen to.
She put her hands on her hips and tried to give her a serious look, but burst into giggles, then choking them down but still retaining the grin. It was so hard to look at her cousin's smiling face and not do it herself. "So, Violet," she started, "find anything to your liking today?"

Amrisneered as a woman ducked away in fear, watching him walk down the cobblestone street. Of course, by now, he had grown used to reactions like that, but the weakness of others still disgusted him. She hadn't even dared to look him in the eye, one glance at Banryuu had been enough. A lot of his reputation he had earned thanks to the great halberd, which seemed to speak for itself. He wondered for a moment what Banryuu would say if it could talk...it would probably tell him to destroy this whole place with one swing. Not that Amri couldn't, but he didn't want to waste his energy.
But perhaps at a later date he would come back and cause some chaos, after, of course, he was done finding what he needed, which was simple. He was looking for a metal flask, in which he could keep liquor for emergency purposes. Because, as he had found, he had a superb sense of direction, but if he was completely sober, he got lost like zap. Already it had happened before when he had gotten lost in a place that didn't have any pubs, and he had had to rely on someone else to get him out of that situation. He shuddered.
A dull ache thudded through his right leg, from the place that was still wrapped around with a cloak that did not belong to him. It made him sneer each time he thought of her. At the time, it hadn't bugged him that she had just left, or more so, he hadn't cared because he had known it would further irritate her, but he still needed to know what was wrong with him, and he knew that she had had an idea.
It was this aggravation that was causing him to sulk through the marketplace, scowl upon his face. He wouldn't even try to blend in. If people stared, he would expect that, if they thought they could arrest him, he would prove them wrong, and if they refused to serve him, he would make them regret it. He was armed and dangerous, anyone who couldn't see that had to be blind.

Violet smirked, proud of what she had accomplished. That was just the reaction she was hoping for from her cousin. "Why would you get so worried over someone saying that?" She asked, crossing her arms. "All you would have to do is snap your fingers and the guards would take them away." She chuckled at the thought. It was just like them to do that. Them, being princesses, never had to worry about the poor folk. If anyone decided to mess with them, they could just get them in trouble. It was always that simple.
She followed her cousin in laughter when Pearl could not keep a straight face and when she had asked if she found anything to her liking she shook her head. "Now Pearl, you know me better than that." She now copied her cousin by placing her hands on her hips. "I go for the more, expensive items." She looked down at a stand that they stood by with disgust written all over her face. Violet had never liked cheap little trinkets that could be bought in the market. Sometimes there were things worth while, but that was very rare.
Violet looked around at the people surrounding the area. It was always busy around town. Then, something caught her eye. Something she had seen before and her heart started to race. It was him. The first thing that came to mind was, "Oh my God." She couldn't believe he was there, in the marketplace. She didn't want to be anywhere near him, and especially now that her cousin was right there. Not here, not now.
She smiled to her cousin in a more panicked manner than she hoped. "Pearl, let's walk, shall we?" She quickly said before she turned her back to where Amri was. Maybe he wouldn't notice them, but who wouldn't notice them. They were two girls, dressed in the finest clothes, with guards standing by them. She hated herself right now for meeting him. In fact she hated herself for ever going to that pub. If she never went she would not be in this posistion right now.

Pearl sighed, and decided to ignore what Violet said. She didn't find joy in getting people into trouble, it would just worry her parents and give them something to think about other than what was most important. And anyway, it wasn't punishing people that she was worried about. It killed her to think that anyone couldn't like her, the same way Peregrine seemed to hate her. She needed for everyone to love her, or life just didn't seem right. Maybe Violet would understand, but maybe she wouldn't...her cousin didn't seem to care as much about that as she did, but that didn't matter. She was going to have fun now.
"I don't care what it costs, as long as it's pretty I want it!" she exclaimed gleefully. Indeed, price didn't matter...on both sides of the spectrum. She really was quite an impulse buyer, and half the things she bought ended up being tossed to her servants after she grew bored with them, which was the reason why they liked being her servants as opposed to...Peregrine or Pandion. Maybe it wasn't good to spoil her servants (Spoil being a relative term), but she just couldn't stop buying new things.
Something seemed to catch Violet's gaze, and, being curious, Pearl followed her eyeline to a young man browsing through the market. His large sword startled her a little bit, but being her oblivious self, it didn't even occur to her that he would hurt them. Peasants didn't attack princesses, it was just a fact of life, so she had no reason to be scared. In fact, this was only reason for her to have a little fun, for she could not see the expression on her cousin's face.
"Is he to your liking?" she asked playfully, believing that rank didn't matter as long as someone was good-looking. She stood on her tippy-toes to get a better view, "He's rather handsome, though the braid is odd and his eyes are rather scary, though I supposed that has more to do with his expression." Her eyes widened innocently when Violet suggested going somewhere else. She sure was acting odd..."Why?"

Amri's eyes flickered as he heard a familiar voice. It was her...it had to be. He would always be able to recognize that annoying tone. And then there was someone else with her, another girl, who sounded around the same age. He twisted her neck upwards to see where they were, and growled in the back of his throat as a tall man stepped in front of him, as if he needed to be reminded of his height. Angrily, he shoved the man aside just in time to make eye contact with the other girl. He glared. Who was she anyway?
But what was more aggravating was that Violet seemed to have noticed him, and was trying to get away. Did she think she could run away from him? Didn't she know that she would fail and succeed only to make him more angry, something that seriously threatened her health? If she wanted to avoid him, she should've done so in that pub, but what was done was done and he still needed her. He had only let her get away before because he was grown bored, but now he would wring her out until she was dry.

"No he is not to my liking!" Violet snapped at her cousin. She immediately took it back with an apologetic look. She didn't mean to snap at her cousin, but Amri was a touchy subject right now. She hesitated as she let out a small, yet fake, chuckle. "I don't even know the peasant." She said let a fake smile come across her lips. She did not want her cousin to know that she had met this boy at a pub and had a conversation with him afterwards.
She looked at her cousin, almost begging. "Please Pearl, can we go?" She did not want to stay there, even if the guards were right there. She knew he could take them out, but she wouldn't admit that to them. Now was the time to come up with a lie.
"He's some stalker that thinks he knows me. He follows me around and it's really scary." She whined, glancing over to him and then quickly looking back. Violet actually felt slightly bad about lying to her, but she had to. "It's worse when I don't have guards with me."
She glanced back in his direction to find he had noticed them. "This is not good." She thought to herself. She was not happy and a frown was the only thing that would come across her face, because unless they get out of there before he came over, she would be forced to tell the truth or Amri would tell it for her. But, would Pearl believe him if he said anything? She didn't know, but she didn't want to take the chance.

Pearl jumped back slightly and blinked at her cousin snapped at her, she didn't usually act like that...perhaps Pearl had said the wrong thing. She had only assumed that his looks had caught her eye, but she guessed it was something else, or perhaps she was just embarrassed that she had been caught looking at a peasant. Well, she had no need to worry about that with Pearl, it didn't matter to her. It didn't take her long to forgive Violet in her mind, especially when she smiled at her. How could she stay mad at her cousin?
"Oh really?" she asked when Violet mentioned that he had been stalking her. She turned to glare at him, but on her face it looked rather comical. He should've known better than to mess with a member of the royal family, especially if Pearl had something to say about it! And say something she would. She put a finger on her chin as she tried to think of something. The most obvious answer was to ask him nicely, and seeing as the obvious answer was the only one she was ever able to come up with, she decided that was what she would do.
Ignoring her cousin's urging, she walked through the crowd, or at least, she would've if it hadn't been parting to let her through until she was standing right in front of the stranger. She found it odd that she was taller than him, but continued proudly with the speech she had created in her mind, "Excuse me, you seem to be distressing my cousin. She would appreciate it if you could stop stalking her." She raised her chin but smiled at the same time, for she preferred to charm people into doing what she wanted rather than threatening them.

Amri raised his eyebrows as the girl asked him to stop stalking Violet. So he was distressing her, was he? Well, he had been expecting that. What he didn't get was the stalking. What was Violet playing at? If anything, she had been stalking him.She was the one who had come up to him the bar...he was pretty sure, and then she had run into him that time in the rain. She had brought this upon herself. And why was this girl...her cousin saying this to him? When she smiled at him he nearly hurled. So she was that type of girl, was she?
"Why don't you tell Violet to stop flattering herself and that she still owes me for saving her life several times." The last part he spoke a little bit louder, knowing that Violet wouldn't leave her cousin alone and was close enough to hear, though he kept his eyes on the girl, just in case she tried to do something. She seemed a little bit more...ditzy, and therefore, unlike Violet, she had absolutely zero respect from him. Perhaps when this was over he could take her back to the Tyrant King.
He smirked, knowing that if Violet knew him at all she would have to come over for the sake of her cousin's life, and he knew she knew him well enough to know he wouldn't hesitate to kill someone if they bothered him, regardless of rank. He shuffled Banryuu on his shoulder, as if he might take it down at any second, adding lure to the bait. This was good, and he could theoretically use this girl as a hostage to get what he wanted. Violet would spill whatever she knew if she wanted to or not, if she wanted her family member to remain in one piece.

Violet raised an eyebrow at her cousin. "Yes?" She said hesitantly to her question. She gave a side look to her cousin as she stood there thinking. What was she thinking? Hopefully it wasn't anything that would get them into trouble. Something about her cousin made her uneasy. What is she going to do? she thought to herself. Whatever it was, it couldn't be good.
Then, her cousin started to make her way through the crowd toward him. "No!" She yelled pushing past people as she followed her, and when her cousin reached him, she stopped dead. Pearl was going to ruin everything, maybe even get herself killed. "Damnit." She mumbled under her breath. She stormed up to the two of them and smiled at her cousin.
"Pearl, you don't want to do this." She warned looking at her. Her gaze then turned to Amri and immediately a glare took ahold of her face. "Amri." She growled. She was not a happy camper and she knew she wouldn't be for the rest of the day. She side-stepped in front of her cousin as Amri shifted his sword on his shoulder. She knew he wasn't afraid to kill Pearl. Heck, he wasn't afraid to kill her, but she knew he wouldn't. Atleast, not now.
Violet took a deep breath and then let it out. "What are you doing here?" She snapped, still glaring at him. It didn't matter anymore about them knowing eachother. He had already told Pearl that she owed him. She would've found out sooner or later, and right now she couldn't care about that anymore. She needed to focus on getting Amri away from her cousin, and her people.
"He's not a stalker Pearl." She said her voice full of anger. "I lied because I didn't think you would go up to him if you thought he was." She never once looked back at her cousin as she spoke to her. She just kept her glare on Amri. "But trust me, you want nothing to do with him." She stated firmly, making sure she understood.

Pearl's eyes widened as she blinked rapidly. What was going on? she knew for a fact that he had not saved Violet's life, so why was he saying that? And what gave him permission to call her by her first name and without her title? This boy was really pushing her, and he was old enough to know better. Maybe she would be putting someone into the dungeon today, but he definitely deserved it. Now he wasn't just distressing Violet, but herself as well.
Then Violet came and stood in front of her and addressed the boy by his name...Amri, that sure was an odd name. She was about to tell her that she didn't need to get so close to him when she was informed that she had lied. That hurt Pearl slightly. Didn't her cousin trust her? And if he wasn't her stalker...what was he? She wasn't acting like he was a secret lover or something, or a friend, but then why hadn't she had him arrested already? She knew for a fact that Violet didn't always need a reason for doing that, as long as the person irritated her in some way, and it looked like Amri was doing more than that.
But she knew one thing, and that was that she trusted Violet. If she didn't like Amri, then neither did Pearl. But she had no reason to be afraid, the guards were within hearing distance, and she could just call them. "I think you're very rude," she informed the odd-in-more-than-one-way boy. So far, he had been acting like he owned the place, but he didn't, Pearl did. This was hers and her own. Anyone who thought otherwise would have to be taught a lesson.

"Violet," he said in the exact same tone back to her. She sure was acting huffy. If she hated him so much, than why had she gone to so much trouble to clean and dress his wound? Or did she just enjoy contradicting herself? Of course, what he had failed to realize was that he had done a fair bit of contradicting himself as well, first threatening her, then saving her life, then threatening her again. It was a strange and confusing dance to watch as they waltzed around each other, never really trusting each other yet not exactly being foes either.
"What am I doing here? It's not like there's any limit on my movement. I can go wherever I please and do whatever I please." He finished with his trademark smirk. He knew that would irritate her. After all, he was deeper in her 'territory' than he had been before, and she knew what he was. He could take out half the market in half a second, and he could see that she was well aware of that in her eyes. She was scared, and he soaked it all up, like a new type of alcohol.
He turned to the other girl, Pearl, and laughed. "I'm rude, am I? d***, I haven't hear that before." He now knew one reason why Violet was afraid, she was scared that he was going to kill her cousin. What she didn't know was that he couldn't kill either of them, less he felt like receiving the wrath of the Tyrant King, but she didn't have to know that. He would let her squirm for as long as possible. "Now, if you remember, we have some unfinished business," he said while glaring her hardly in the eye. Just because he wasn't allowed to kill her didn't mean he didn't want to.

Violet cocked her head to the side a bit and smirked at him. "Oh really?" She paused walking a bit closer to him. "Well, last time I checked you don't belong here. You're on the wrong territory Amri and this isn't the time to seek comfort in killing. Especially on my land." She never backed down as she stood there. She was slightly scared of what might happen, but like earlier affairs she wasn't going to let him know that.
She tensed up when Pearl spoke again. Her words were directed toward the mercenary. She kept her gaze on the boy in front of her though. "Pearl, you might want to watch what you say." She had two differents tones for the both of them. Her voice was firm when she talked to her cousin, and angry when she talked to Amri. She didn't want anything to happen to her cousin and she wasn't going to let anything happen.
Violet chuckled at the boy who stood before her. "Unfinished business? That's funny." She stated smirking at him. "If I remember correctly, I told you to figure it out for yourself. You're a big boy, I'm sure you can handle it." She looked over to the guards before she looked back to him, her face still hard. "After all, you don't need help from a pretty little princess. I helped you once," She paused in thought, "actually twice, and I think twice is enough."
She looked down at his right leg. The one that she had doctored up a bit. She let out a small sigh at the thought of doing that for him and then glared back up at him. No matter how much he helped her, she wasn't going to tolerate his attitude.

Pearl knew this side of Violet, her 'in control and in charge' side, but it seemed to Pearl that she wasn't much in control. The princess now recognized this situation, it was one her parents had warned her about and one Peregrine had told her she wouldn't know what to do in. But she would prove to him that his sister was a strong individual. After all, this was her kingdom and only things she wanted to happen would take place. Violet warned her, but she didn't want Amri to think he could do anything to her, "Violet, we should call the guards. They'll take care of him."
Pearl really didn't like him. He talked to her like she wasn't a princess. And he had basically admitted that he was rude, what was the point of that? It was like he was signing up for his cell in the dungeons, and Pearl was more than happy to fulfill that wish. Just a snap of her fingers and the guards would be at her side, but she wanted to make sure that was okay with Violet, just in case for some reason she didn't want him arrested. However, that seemed unlikely.
She furrowed her eyebrows as they talked...it confused her. What did Violet owe him? What was she talking about? What had happened that she didn't know about? She would have to grill Violet later for the juicy details. Perhaps is was a thrilling tale of adventure. Wait...she had helped him twice? Then why did she seem to hate him now? She was so puzzled, and it was hurting her head when she tried to create a story in her mind that would explain all of this, but nothing made sense.
