Tammy nodded. 'And your fine with that?'

"I don't have much choise, do I?" Peregrine asked,"And its not like I mind very much, it's just strange, thinking that I'll be a legal adult, according to the laws of my people.
And King in a few years if my father isn't more careful. Peregrine thought privately. But the fact that he was a prince and the heir to the throne was kept quite for now, for everyone's safety. Only one mortal born knew, and that was William Skip.

Tammy nodded and decided to keep quiet about the dramatic change in his aura, disappointment, something he didnt want to do would come to pass soon. She frowned. 'Well, being a legal adult isnt so bad, I've been one for two hundred years now, even though i only look nineteen.' she smiled.

"I see." Peregrine said, glancing at the dial. Four minutes. "Well, I doubt being anouther year older will change me much, I'm still the same knight." He said.

Tammy nodded. 'Just think of it as...i don't no, people respect you more or people look up to you more!' she said this trying to make him feel better but had a feeling she wasnt complying to well. 'Ok, so maybe I'm not the best at this whole supportive talk thing, and not to good at advice either. Just say the word and I promise you I will leave you to your thinking.' Tammy looked at Peregrine expecting him to say 'leave now' but he seemed to nice a young man to do that.
((is that better?))

((Yeah, its fine.))
Peregrine smiled good naturedly. "Its alright." He said, "I do rather have to fight to have my voice heard, because others see me still as a child, but I suppose it won't be much different anyway." Peregrine explained. "To my people, the age of seventeen is the first year of adulthood, but to most peoples, seventeen is just another year of being considered a child. But age doesn't concern me." He continued.

Tammy nodded. 'Well lets consider it this way, your turning 17 and all around you the people here already respect you. It doesnt matter the age, all that matters is the way you handle that age. If I was 23 say, and I acted 13, people wouldnt give me the respect I deserved, where as you are just turning 17 and have the maturity of a 25 year old. Thats something to be proud of, something that would make your voice heard.'

Peregrine laughed, half in kind amusement, half in bitterness.
"My family, respect me?" He said, shaking his head. "They wouldn't care if I were 103 and acted 52, they will always treat me the same way. Surprisingly similar to the way they treat dirt." He continued lightly. "But enough about me, how did you find out about the Silmarils, Tammy?" He asked, casting another glance at the sun dial.

Tammy glanced down at her hands. 'Yeah my family treated me like dirt too..' she mumbled then decided to answer his question. 'Well my brother told me that I was getting to out of hand, I was travelling alone and even though he and I both no I can take care of myself very well, he decided against letting me any more. He sent me here while he fights in a war out there.' she laughed the same half amused, half bitter laugh Peregrine did. 'Im still despising him for it. I've always been a free spirit sort of thing, now I feel more alone than I ever did out there and more enclosed.' She sighed at the large confession she had just made to Peregrine.

Peregrine listened to all that Tammy had to say. She certainly was open with him, even though they had only just met each other for the first time. “I see.” He said again, having nothing better to say.
Tearing his eyes away from the sun dial yet again, he turned back to the girl. “I’m glad you came to join us.” He said, with lack of anything better to say. “Have you heard about the war?”

Tammy smiled and a slight tinge came to her cheeks. Its didnt mean anything, she was just glad she got a compliment. Then she shook her head. 'He refuses to write me, thinks ill come after him if I hear a word of a fight without me.' she laughed. 'Why am I telling you this? We've only just met.'
