Putting a limit on gay marriage is just putting a limit on love, which is just...crazy. It doesn't hurt anyone, so why bother? People who can't accept that some people are different from them should get their nose out of other people's business and start paying attention to things that affect them, instead of worrying about things that happen in the privacy of other peoples' homes.

I have absolutely nothing against gay marriage. Some of the nicest men I know are gay, and they don't hide it, either. I myself sometimes mourn the loss of such nice men for the womenfolk. But people should be allowed to be who they are: be it gay, bi, straight, or something other. To put limits on gay marriage is wrong. It's an act of power, of control; of fear and belief that it is wrong. Who is mankind to dictate the personal lives of other men (or women)? What makes it wrong to be gay?

Hey gay marriage is fine by me. Its a shame they have to keep the fact hidden that they are gay. It should be no ones business but their own. Gay people should be as miserable with their lovers as the rest of us guys are with our lovers. *Evil smirk*

aw, poor guy!
Adoption is alright. Yeah, you hear about all those awful cases where the adoptor was some sick parent who used them as slaves, or sold them for a profit, or even abused them, but most people aren't like that. Most people actually provide great homes. And I'm pretty sure that no one is going to make fun of Bradgelinas adopted children, now, are they? Surrogate mothers are pretty expensive (at least, in the USA they are), and it's probably more effecient and less expensive to adopt. I think adoption is a wonderful thing. It gives adults who can't have children or who don't want to go through conceiving/child-bearing a chance to be parents. It also gives parentless/removed-from-parent-children an oppotunity to be given a home and to be raised with parents. Every child needs a home, right? However, if the child was in their teens (say 12-17 years of age) then it might not be the best or happiest of options....

What bugs me however is when people say that its wrong. How is it wrong. All they have is intrinsic reasoning which, in effect, does not strengten their position

Even most modern Catholics. My dad's side of the family is mostly Catholic, and let me tell you, most of them have no problem whatsoever with sleeping with whomever before marriage (of course, most of them are a bunch of sickos anyway).

Just because the Pope writes it down doesn't mean everyone follows it and if you're not even Catholic, you don't have to listen to the Pope. In my opinion, what the Pope writes is all fine and good, but the basis Christian beliefs should be the Bible. The reason Christianity got so muddled up, was because of all the corrupted clergy members preaching their opinion to congregation. People were too poor to purchase books and the majority of them couldn't read, anyway.

Halt a moment. Christian is most definitely not Catholic Thorn. In fact, I find it hard to find reasons to call Catholics Christian at all. We have completely different belief systems so please do not compare the faith I was raised in to that stagnant traditionalist religion.
