Mizukey walked into a modern classroom. Every work station had a computer equipped with the basic programs that they would need (notepad and an Internet browser). There was a smart board at the front of the classroom with an attached computer where she could type something and it would enlarge for all to see.
Mizukey sat her stuff at the main desk and pulled out a large binder. This covered just the HTML factor of coding and it was what they would be starting with. Hopefully this class would move along rather quickly and they could get this binder done in just a few weeks and get on to the really hard stuff. As she waited for her students to arrive, she started to type some stuff into the computer to prepare for the lesson. It made her wonder if she was really qualified to teach this class since she had taught herself code and hadn't learned from anyone, but pushed the thought aside and continued to work.

A 16-year-old boy came in through the door. At first glance, he looked like a goody-goody nerd at academic success, but once took a second glance at him, they could see that there was more to him. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a white pressed button down shirt laying unbuttoned over the black shirt. He also wore blue jeans of the straight leg variety and worn sneakers which looked as if they had been owned by him since he was eleven, which, in fact, they had. Hidden by the hem of the black shirt, he wore a slender, but sturdy black leather belt with a plain metal buckle which had been worn smooth with use.
His skin was tanned an olive color by the sun which he had been out in and his green eyes were aided by the help of round glasses. His hair was a mess, as usual, and he wore it in a strange style. From a frontal view, it looked as if it had been cut in the back with its long, roguish bangs coming down to his dark eyebrows, but in the back there was a long thick ponytail which reached just above the bottom of his shoulder blades and was bound by a dark brown band.
As he walked in the room, he automatically placed a slightly smile on his face, as if to communicate to the other people that he was in a good and friendly mood. Then, he spotted a girl at the main desk and stealthily made his way up behind her, taking care not to make a sound. Once he was behind her, he cleared his throat loudly.
((Are you playing yourself or a modern-day character?))

((Ok, well here's the deal. Mizukey is me, so I guess I'm playing both. I describe it like this. If Mizukey and I were ever to meet, the world would probably explode because you can't have the same person be two different people... the explanation works better if you've read David Eddings second Sparhawk series though.... So, I' m kinda playing the WF version of Mizukey...))
Mizukey spun around to face the student standing behind her, her skirt twirling around her knees and her flip-flops making a squeaking noise. Immediately recognizing the boy, she proceeded to scream and stare him down with her large brown eyes. Her long brown hair spun with her, creating a slight arch in the space behind her. She hoped that it hadn't hit the boy, but it was a rather common occurrence, so she wouldn't be surprised...
"Peregrine Alexander!! Are you trying to give me a heart attack??? I was deep in concentration and all of a sudden you were just there...." though that happens quite frequently... she thought to herself. "So, are you finally ready to learn some coding?" she asked the young man.

((KK, this is actually my attempt at playing myself))
The boy smiled, amused.
"My pleasure, Mizu." He responded, "I am here to jerk you rudely from your deep thoughts and concentration, fall down stairs placed in random, hidden places, and of course, learn code." Oliver responded. His hands were very animated when he talked, as he moved them at great speed while he spoke, a habit he had picked up from his mother.

Mizukey was very amused my Pippin's use of his hands. It reminded her, not in a bad way, of Rachel Ray on the Food Network. Her sisters and her always joked about the food network star, saying that if her hands were tried behind her back that she would be rendered unable to talk. The thought made Mizukey laugh.
"Yes, yes. Those stairs do seem to pose a bit of a problem for some.... I believe there are some hiding in the corner behind be, so I wouldn't go over there if I were you." Her face was completely serious for a whole ten seconds until she couldn't take it any longer and burst out laughing.
"So, since no one else has sighed up for this class, why don't we just be a little informal about it and I'll teach you sorta like we're talking. I'll ask questions or explain stuff, and if you don't know, just tell me so I can tell you and move on... work for you?" she questioned. She motioned for him to take a seat in the front row where we would be close enough that she wouldn't have to talk any louder than normal to make him hear her.

"Yep, KK." Oliver said enthusiastically, using the phrase which Mizu and her sisters had taught him and sitting down in one of the spinning chairs. For a fraction of a minute he just sat there, enjoying being suspended in the air on the mobile piece of office funiture.
"So, what's first?" He asked, forcing himself to resist the temptation of spinning round and round like a little kid. To channel some of his energy, he ran a slender-fingered tanned hand through his dark bangs, causing them to stand on end for a moment and pushing his glasses further up on his nose.

Mizu smiled as she noticed the coined phrase. Her sisters and her really did say that alot, though she didn't know why... it probably resulted from lazyness. "Well, first we have to start with the different kinds of languages that you can type code in. I've aleready given you HTML, but can you come up with the main other two??" she asked her eager student.

"I'm afraid I don't know." Oliver said, a little regretfully, but hey, that was what he was here for, right? To learn the code. "Is it called URL code, by any chance?" He guessed.
((sorry, short))

Mizukey smiled at the confused student. "I'm going to be brutally honest, that wasn't even close. A url is the address of the website, normally whatever.com. Ok, well, the others are CSS and JavaScript. Some consider XHTML to be it's own language, but it is really just refined HTML. People have gotten away from being really precise in HTML coding, so this is pretty much the same thing, just with all the tags in the right spot..." Mizukey paused for a moment and realized that she could be very confusing right now.
"OK, so that was probably a bit confusing. I think we need to define some terms first... so, what do you think a tag is?"

Oliver thought for a moment. Yes, he had heard of tags, but what was their definition? He saw them mentioned all the time on YouTube, where he frequently watched videos, but he didn't know what they were, except he had a guess,
"Are they like key words, so if a person types one of the tags into a search engine then they cause something to come up?" He asked, not knowing whether he was close to the true or whether his guess simply sounded incredible stupid.

Mizukey pondered this for a moment. "Well... that was a very good guess." She was trying to sound positive, but even by listening to her own voice she could tell that it probably came off rather badly... She typed something into the computer to display her point and it appeared on the screen
<html> <table> <p>
"Ok, these are so examples of tags since they are very hard to define. If you have ever looked at code before, and I know you have, then you will recognize these... these are some basic HTML tags that everyone who knows anything about HTML probably knows. They are used to surround information and give it certain characteristics, whether they be formatting or placement on the page or just about anything else. Everything in HTML depends on tags because things not surrounded by tags don't show up on a website. The most basic tag is the <html> and it's closing tag </html>. This tag surrounds the entire contents of the website layout. Are you still with me or have I lost you?" Mizukey asked.

"Yes, you still have me spellbound." Oliver assured her with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "I'm just kidding." He added quickly, as not to be rude or alarm her; he was just playing around, kidding playfully. "I understand." He said seriously.
"So say I could put <html> and then some text</html> at the top of Silmaril...I mean Speirling, sorry I still call it Silmaril." He added with something between a laugh and a chuckle. "What does HTML stand for anyway, if that is a relevant question." He wasn't sure of what the web abbreviation stood for, even though he once had, he had forgotten a lot of eighth grade material between cell division, verb conjugation, and the forth wall that he had experienced in college and high school. Oh how his life changed since he had 'graduated' eighth grade, which he hadn't technically done. He had just been ready to move on, never learning the finer points of how to diagram a sentence, never fully understanding what a dangling participial was, but knowing how to speak and write as if he had. It didn't matter, he had time to catch up on those things.

"Oh yes, sorry... I see to have forgotten about that!" Mizukey pondered this a moment, wondering how she had forgotten such an important point. "Well, HTML stands for Hyper-Text Markup Language. And no, I don't think you could put html tags above Sword of Spierling and just create your own website... sorry. Proboards already puts those tags around your entire website, so you don't have to worry about them. Before I go into this any further I also need to ask. Are you looking to learn everything to create your own website, or just stuff for proboards? Because that will really determine what we talk about... like I won't really go into CSS or anything... I just want to know."

"I can see why it is called html." Oliver said with something of a laugh; he was so often making these minor 'jokes' like this, to keep the mood light and friendly. He though for a moment, before saying,
"Could we please start with Proboards coding, as that will be where I will be spending most of my computer time on?" Jake said, "If that's alright with you, of course." he added.

"Ok, I see where you are coming from. There is just a few extra tags you need to actually create your own website that you won't use in proboards because they supply them for you in the coding of the site, like the body and heading tags. Ok."
Mizukey paused a moment and typed something into your computer. A few seconds later, something appeared on the screen at the front of the room.
<table></table>
"When talking about proboards, one of the main tags of HTML that you will use is the table tag. This will create tables on your site like at the top of the board or whatever. Many of the tags that you would use in a normal website are used within the table tags. We need a prodject to make a table for to pracitce with...but not for Silmarial. Can you think of a prodject that you need a table for that we could use to give what all these tags mean?"
