Who's your favorite?
Though I'm flopping between O' Bama and Clinton, I'm leaning towards Hillary. She just seems like she'll keep her promises more and is just stronger willed. Either she or O' Bama, though, would be an improvement. (Idealy Clinton will be president and O' Bama will be vice, but O' Bama's said he won't do that. Darn his pride!)

I'm a republican man (I'm not one for national politics though), but if I were voting, I'd vote for McCain.

At the moment, I am going for Hilary, though it could easily change. It probebly has something to do with the fact that I am a feminist, but I really just think she would do a better job. I don't mind Obama though, but I am against another rebulbcan president. Bush really ruined it for me, and I have never wanted a rebublican president. They just never seem to do anything as they should.

I may be australian but i dont think it takes a full brain to notice that ANYONE other that George W. Bush is an MAJOR improvement.
But personally I'm supporting Hilary Clinton. A female president would do wonders for the country.
But either Obama or Clinton would be fine. Cause if you think about it, it'll be a first anyway. Obama: the first black President... or... Clinton: The first Female president. Either way... it's a first.
But Clinton all the way for me

Deimos, as I am a repluplican, I am NOT evil. OK?
Yeah, I read in News Week that the upcoming election would probably determine whether the country was more racist or more sexist, even though we'd all like to believe people are voting for the best choice, it's not always the case unfornuately.

I disagree with racist, because it doesn't seem at all like that. I've heard TONS of people saying they won't vote for Hillary because she's a woman, and practically NONE that say they won't vote for Obama because he's African American.
I don't see what McCain has to offer, other than what we already have, and what has that led to? Poverty, economic troubles, a war, no enviormental awareness, a jump in unemployment, and of course, debts that THIS generation will have to pay off. This government needs change. Though I'm sure either Obama or Hillary will provide that, Hillary just seems like she'll be more able to do what she promises. I'm NOT choosing her because she's a woman, but because she's strong-willed.
Just in case anyone asks, I get my information from NPR, which is about as unbiased as you're going to get in the media.

I agree with Yuliya.
And I'm certainly not going with Clinton because she's female. But because she has some ideals and values that i can agree with. Personally I'd vote for either Clinton or Obama openly. And thats cause of race and sex. Clinton for female and Obama for black. But honestly.... i vote for anyone with good strong ideals that i like. And Clinton has those....
Now if there was a black woman running for president.... well that would certainly be a first. Best of both worlds in my books. lol

I believe that government politicians are conrupt and restricting to citizens as it is and I believe the government needs to back off and let us live our lives instead of taxing us until we go broke and imposing stupid requirements for students and homeowners. Also, a lot of presidents in American history have made the same old promises, but never kept them. I'm not entirely thrilled with any of the candidates, but if I was voting for one, I'd vote for McCain.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of racism in his area, not against African Americans especially, but then there are people (members of my own family not to be discussed here) who don't trust African Americans or Latinos. I think it is horrible, but it's what it is, don't get me wrong, I'm not racist or sexist, but it's just the plain cold facts.
There is also some sexism going on over here, but it is more or less crushed by any female activist who will speak up. We don't have a high crime rate at all *knocks on wood*, but we do have some racism and sexism going on. As to sexual origionation, it's a nearly completely straight community--I know, sad that we can't all get along, but welcome to the rural life!

I'd be really happy with either Hillary or Obama in office, I'm a liberal Democrat all the way. Both Yuliya and I were rooting for Kucinich (YEAH!) but he dropped out due to low funds...*growl*
I don't hate Republicans and I have plenty of friends with different political views, but in general I can't understand many of the Republican views. I'd love to have change in this country, as in a LOT of change, and I'm for anyone who would do that. Environment, education, peace, equal treatment, that pretty much sums up what I want. And I don't hate McCain, although I do despise Bush. It would be great to have either a female or an African-American in office. Our country seriously needs some lessons in embracing diversity at so many levels...for now I'm saying Hillary.

Well, heres my pick:McCain.
Reasons: First, i have an VERY racist father and my grandfather on my mothers side also. When i was little i didn't know any better, and would agree with him. Now that i know better i am trying to brake out of the racist life my father has put me in. Don't get me wrong, my dad is a great guy and i love him to death, but hes just racist, particually towards native americans. He doesn't like them, not one bit. He says he doesn't like them because we feel pitty for them, and they dont need it. They choose to live the way they do with their strange customs that seem crazy. My mother words at JSC (juvinile jail) and she knows that most of them in there are native amarican, which doesn't help my dads look at them at all. Granted, my dad is also VERY racist against Latino people simply because he only sees how they sneek into the states and commit crimes, but can only be sent back to Mexico because they aren't citizens. My dad says that they normally make it back to america before the cops do.
I personally hate what this country is turning into and i dont think that even if we get a good leader that it will change. People expect just because we get a new president means that we will suddenly become a peiceful country. But that doesn't work. I am pro-Bush, he tried his best and he kept the country running. Thats all i can personally ask from him because i dont run the country he does.
I have heard people say that its bushes fault for having our troops over in Iraq, but i must remind you THEY bombed US not the other way around. I am pro-bringing out troops back, but I think that we need to make sure they wont bomb us again before we just pack out bags and get out of there.
I chose McCain becuase also, i have had it drilled into my head that there is no way America is going to pick a woman for president, they didn't like President Clinton that much as it is, and they sure wont like his wife. Also, we get into, there are still too many racist people around to let the other one in, so i wont get my hopes up.
I can see the coin from both sides (Democrat and Republican). I try to stay out of anything political. I understand why the racist people are racist, and i with others would try to understand also. I guess in the civil war, i would live in like kentucky, or somthing, one of the 'border states' that were in the north and allowed slaves but knew it was wrong, or in the south, didn't secede owned slaves, but still knew it was wrong.
(Pardon me if i have offended anybody with my rant.)

Just to get one fact clear: Iraq NEVER bombed us and there was NO proof that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11, the real reason we're in Iraq is oil. I don't think its a coincidence that we're 'democratizing' countries with oil, otherwise, why not Darfur? Or other third world countries. Again, we weren't bombed. Also, even though it isn't promised that change will happen, there's definitely a greater probability with the democrats. Are you saying that there's no point in at least trying to better our country? And, the country has not been running well. Read my last post. Ecomomic and enviromentals issues are growing at an exponential rate. I think people should really pay attention to the news before they start developing opinions on how this country is being run. And about Bush, here is a rather accurate site about horrible things he's done. I haven't looked through it completely, but I'm pretty sure its accurate: www.motherearth.org/bushwanted/laws.php#rogue

I just want the Washington politicians to stay out of my life, that's why I'd vote for McCain. I'm stick of being told I need to do this and this in order to graduate high school and such, or that how we can't have animals in a booth along the streets during a street festival. I mean, those rich men and women who sit up in the capitol and think up meaningless bills for us, I mean, what do they know about how we live or education.
Oh, and I absolutely despise CA's governor, Schwarzenegger. My family and I actually wrote him a letter and got the entire 4-H club to sign it as we were petitioning against the closing of historical sites of the Spanish immigrants (and imperialists) and the Native Americans, but he's another story.
I don't think it's appropriate for illegal immigrants to live here, I think they should go and be documented, but after they're legal, I don't see them any different from anyone else.

I agree with Yuliya. Our country was in a bad state before Bush came into office; it is in an even worse situation now. We're basically the most powerful country in the world, and we're completely abusing that power. I have looked over that page that Yuliya posted a link to and happen to know that quite a few of them, if not every one, are accurate. Yuliya is right, Iraq DID NOT bomb us but we have bombed them. Bombing Iraqis is not helping them. And let's not forget the main reasons that we're there anyway: 1. Oil 2. Oil 3. Oil And, of course, we were the ones who put Huessien in power in Iraq in the first place. Bush conveniently neglects to mention that. And now we're back there, trying to correct everything and achieve 'American-style democracy.'
As far as I'm concerned...
"Lousy voting systems, corrupt government, deceitful leaders. Great. American-style democracy. Let's go home."
