Violet shot a glare in his direction when he growled. "What are you? Some kind of dog?" She shook head and looked straight ahead. "You know I'm right, and you can't admit it." She said crossing her arms and smirking at him. It was quite fun to mess with him, even though she knew he had a bad attitude, and might snap back.
"Fine, you don't care about me." She said rolling her eyes. "Then tell me why you care so much about me talking? How does my ability to talk benefit you?" She didn't understand why he would keep her alive or help her for that matter, if he didn't care. She didn't believe he was a good guy, but she didn't think he was fully bad.
He then agreed to go the direction she pointed in. She nodded and then watched him put his sword on his shoulder and start to walk away. She followed him, the whole time staring at his sword. It was on the same side that he was hurt on, which must be painful to him. She winced a bit just at the thought of it.
Violet looked in the direction of some bushes as a man jumped out and knocked Amri over, sword landing on his leg. Her eyes widened a bit in shock, but then anger rose inside of her once again that day. She ran over to Amri and knelt down. She knew she wouldn't be able to move the sword, so she left that to him.
She glared up at the man who did this. "What do you people want with us?" She snapped, standing up as she did. She clenched her fists as she stood in front of Amri. Not knowing how to fight, she still wasn't going to let the man do this. She paused for a moment before she punched out at the mans face.

Amri groaned...the end of Banryuu's handle, the crescent moon, had dug into the hole in his leg, ripping into the already ripped flesh. Great, just great...the end of the moon was slightly curved, which was even worse. He hoped it hadn't gotten tendons or something like that. And of course, he needed to fight this guy, cause the princess certainly wouldn't. He first pushed his bangs out of his eyes then Banryuu off of himself and stood up, only to see Violet throw a punch at the man...and actually connect. The man swore, and was about to lash out at her when Amri stopped him with one hand.
"You must really be a coward to try and hit a girl when there's a guy like me standing right here." His leg now hurt a ton more, but he would not let it stop him. To be hindered by something like that would disgust him. He had fought off a hoard of guys with an arm out of it's socket, he had run for miles on a broken leg, he had breached city defenses with a dagger in his side...to not be able to fight now would be embarrassing.
"The Alexander family will be the ruin of Saor!"
"You know what? I don't really care, but this one happens to be of some use to me, so today is not your day for killing her."
He struck out a hand to wrap itself around the man's throat...but then he did the exact same thing to Amri, only using both his hands. Amri tried to rip his neck out of his grip, but as he did so, they both tumbled down, unfortunately on his right side. He groaned slightly from the impact, but then brought up his right hand to punch the guy in the nose, and he could feel it crack nuder his knuckles. Which only made him squeeze tighter around his neck.

Violet shook her hand after her fist had connected with the mans face. It had hurt, but she didn't show it. The man was about to hit her back, when Amri had caught the mans hand. She looked at the two hands connected and the let her glare fall back upon the man.
She listened to Amris words and then looked down at his leg, which was now worse than before. She looked back up when the man said that her family will ruin Soar. "You're wrong!" She screamed. "You don't know anything about my family to make that accusation!" She let her gaze turn to Amri as he began to speak. She apparently was of use to him and so today the man wouldn't be able to kill her. So, if she wasn't any use to him, she would be dead right now?
Violet was about to say something about what Amri had said, but the two had grabbed each others throats. She started to breath heavily as it got worse. The two of them took a tumble, which obviously hurt Amri and then he punched the man in the nose. She could hear the crack which made her flinch at the sound. The man wouldn't let go of him no matter what. He really wanted her dead and it looked like he would do anything to get that.
She saw the mans grasp tighten, which out of impulse made her run over. "Stop!" She yelled. "Stop it!" She threw herself down on her knees and tried to pry the man off of Amri. His grasp was strong on him and too strong for her. When she figured she wouldn't be able to she quickly stood up and kicked the man in between the legs. She was not going to let this man kill him even if she wasn't friends with him.

In a second, the man released his hold of Amri in his rush to cover a certain intimate spot. He used this opportunity to wrestle him onto his back. This guy was just annoying. Amri grabbed his broken nose and twisted it, making him cry out, and then he grabbed the ends of the sash around his waist and pushed it against his mouth, seeing as he wouldn't be able to breathe through his nose. Must to Amri's disgust, he began wriggling and squirming. He could feel the life being drained out of him. He smirked as the man gave him a look of fear, as if he couldn't actually believe he was going to suffocate him. Well, he should've thought of that before he attacked them. Amri leaned in closer.
"I'm going to watch you die, you deserve it, bastard." He started to struggle harder, but Amri held fast, pushing down hard on his mouth, until the man gave one last kick and stopped, and Amri saw the light go out of his eyes. He smirked at the dead body and wiped the blood off his hands from when he had grabbed his nose on the man's shirt. He deserved no honor and no pity. He hadn't even fought well, so he didn't get Amri's respect either. He was just a nothing, like everyone else in the world to Amri.
"Good riddance," he said, picking Banryuu up from the mud and setting his eyes once again on the direction they had decided in. Unfortunately his injury had now gotten worse, but that wasn't going to stop him. Maybe others would be spending some time to reflect on the fact that they had killed someone, but Amri killed someone on a semi-daily basis, it was just a fact of life by now. Killing happened, and being the person who killed was better than being the person who was killed. "Let's go."

When the man had cryed out, Violet covered her ears. She didn't like the sound of it, nor the sight that was right in front of her eyes, but she couldn't do anything about it and she was the one that allowed Amri to do what he had done, because she distracted the man. She looked at all of the blood and immediately her face turned into a look of disgust. She never liked blood.
She couldn't help but feel a little bit of pity for the man when she had heard what Amri said. The man had already known that he was going to die, so why should Amri make matters worse with his words. When the man had finally died she closed her eyes and turned her head towards the ground. Being with Amri, was truly changing her outlook on things. She had never seen death, and he had shown her that. She had never met someone who could just kill off so many people without caring, but she met him. He had shown her what truly happens during a war. The things her parents didn't want her to see.
She opened her eyes once more when he had said 'good riddance' and looked up at him. "Before I leave this spot, answer this question. If you didn't need me, would you have let me be killed?" Her voice was stern and slightly cold. She was not in the best mood right now and everything that was happening was not helping at all.
She walked closer to him and looked down at his thigh. When they went to a different area, she would look for herbs she knew would help. She actually payed attention during her teachings and she liked to learn. There were things about wounds that she had learned during that time. She could help him, if he let her.

Amri rolled his eyes. How much time would she spend worrying about whether he cared or not? His actions were his own, he didn't need to explain them. If she didn't like it, she could close her eyes, and if she appreciated it, then she shouldn't complain. He had no reason to tell her the reasons behind every single thing he did, just like he wouldn't expect her to tell him why she did the things she did. Everyone did things, and everyone had things done to them, did she have a problem with that? Why would anyone bothers with ifs?
Still, he wanted to get away as soon as possible and with using as little force as possible, so if he needed to say something to shut her up and satisfy her, he would. "Depends," he said, reaching his left hand to rub his neck where the man had tried to strangle him, "If you hadn't been fighting back, I wouldn't have cared, if you had been fighting back and winning, I would have waited to fight you myself, and if you had been fighting back but been losing, I would have fended them off and then gone on my own way."
Out of the corner of his eye, he thought he saw something and swirled around. A pale white, dainty creature was flapping through the air...a butterfly. That was odd, why would a butterfly be out so soon after it rained? He furrowed his eyebrows at it. For some reason, the sight of brought frustration into his heart. He scowled, and hoisted Banryuu up onto his shoulder again, and then he thought of something else to say. A question for a question.
"Let me ask you this; if I had behaved differently when I was drunk...say, if I had been more vulgar, would you still be here right now?"

Violet crossed her arms in frustration at the rolling of his eyes. She didn't appreciate the way he acted towards her and when he had answered her question, she nodded and let her arms drop to her sides. "Fine." Was all she said to him. She didn't care, which she shouldn't. He was just some boy who was lower than her and she probably wouldn't see again after this meeting.
She watched him as he made a face at the butterfly. Alright, so this boy was some killer who didn't care about a d*** thing, and now he was making faces at a butterfly. What was his deal? He was so confusing. "Do you like butterflies Amri?" She joked. She wasn't trying to make him mad, she just liked messing with him.
He then asked her a question. She chuckled slightly at what he had asked. "Depends." She said, playing him at his own game. "If you had treated me the same way earlier that you did at the pub, no. If you had been nicer than that night, maybe I would hear you out. And if you got down on your knees begging for forgiveness and telling me that I'm higher than you, then yes." She said smirking before walking in the direction she had pointed in earlier.
She stopped when she got a short distance away. She turned to look at him and then waved him over. "Come on, we don't have all day you know." She turned and then continued walking. If he wanted any answers from her, he would follow. In fact, she knew he would follow. He needed her. Maybe she could use that to her advantage, but for right now she would see how things went.

He threw the scowl at Violet instead, "I don't hate them," he said, sounding like a whiny little kid, and then brought his big eyes back to the butterfly as he watched it disappear into the distance. They always got away before he could catch them...even little kids could manage to grab them and he never could. They always evaded his reach...what was up with that? There was not a single thing in his life like this...they were something he couldn't achieve, yet he didn't hate them...they only made him want to catch one more. But one thing he definitely didn't want was for Violet to wonder what his deal was, so he tore his eyes away from the place it had disappeared and caught up to her. He wouldn't let a butterfly get in his way.
He scoffed at what she said. "I will never go on my knees for you or anyone else for any reason," he spat, looking disgusted at the mere thought. He would never beg to anyone. If he suffered, he would deal and not depend on others, just the same way he was leaving his wound as it was. The blood was still spreading, mostly because he was still walking with it, but that didn't matter to him. Unlike others, he did not faint because of blood loss, he had never fainted in his whole life, and the only reason he had ever passed out was from drinking too much.
The only thing he noticed changing was that it was getting slightly harder to carry Banryuu, but it didn't matter, he still could and that was the point. If it got really hard, he would just transfer it to his left shoulder, but he usually liked putting it on his right because it acted like armor there, and he already had armor on his left side. he couldn't be sure if they were going to be attacked again, there could be tens more from whatever group was trying to get rid of the Alexander family.
"Did I...say anything about my past while I was..." he didn't think he needed to say it for her to know he was talking about while he was drunk.

Violet made a mocking face at Amri when he scowled at her. "Don't scowl at me." She said still walking forward. She heard his footsteps as he came up behind her. She looked back at him for a moment and then brought her gaze back in front of her and shook her head. He was quite the weird one, but she wasn't afraid to admit, he was kind of amusing.
"Well then, I guess that would be a no for you." She said giggling a bit. "And there is no reason for you to get all huffy-puffy over what I said, so calm yourself down." She demanded, tone firm once more. She realized she was using that tone with him a lot, but she didn't care.
Violet gazed back once more. She could tell he was having trouble and she really wanted to get somewhere soon, so she could help him. When she heard his question she let a sigh escape from her lips. "No, I don't believe you did." She said answering him. "If you did, though, I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure you didn't."
She reached up and played with her hair a bit as they continued to walk. It probably looked horrible from the all the rain. She frowned a bit at the thought and then let her hand fall and tried not to think about it anymore. It didn't matter. It wasn't like she was trying to impress anyone right now.
Soon enough she saw a small clearing and she walked into it. Now was the time she was going to be somewhat demanding. She pointed to a spot on the ground and looked at him. "Sit." She demanded him. She walked away hoping he would do as she said, though she knew he wouldn't, and soon disappeared into the bushes.
After a few minutes of searching, Violet returned to the clearing with her right hand clenched shut. She sat down on the ground in front of him and looked at him with a straight face. "It is time to take care of that wound of yours." She was going to be strict with him now, and she wasn't going to take no for an answer.

Sit? Did she really expect him to listen to commands like a dog? And why here? He was hoping to find a somewhat more secluded spot, since he had been planning to stay the night wherever they stopped. It was getting fairly late...speaking of which, was was getting hungry...something fighting like that did to him. Being an extremely active teenage boy made his appetite absolutely outrageous. Maybe they should stop here, he could probably find something to eat around here. So, with a great huff, he carefully placed Banryuu on the ground and slowly lowered himself, just as Violet disappeared into the undergrowth. What was she playing at? Ah well, she seemed to know what she was doing.
It was then that into the clearing flew a familiar shape, a golden eagle who only showed up when he was less needed. It was ironic that Amri had named him 'Halil,' Arabic for 'comrade,' when the bird of prey was anything but. Amri scowled at him as he dug into a mouse that he had caught. It was like he was showing off that he was eating. He gave him another dirty look as he stretched his leg out, and then bent over to untie the brace-like thing he had over the bottom half of his leg. Man, his feet were dirty.
He was wishing Violet would come back, but when she did and announced what she was planning to do, his eyes widened. No longer was he relaxing. She was trying again! Alarmed, he scrambled out of the way. "No! Get away!" he shouted at her. She had something in her hand...probably some poison that would make it worse. He knew something like this would happen. No one could be in his presence this long without wanting to kill him, and she was going to try right now, the distrust was in his eyes.

After Violet had sat down, she rested her elbow on her knee and her cheek in her empty hand. She waited a couple minutes as he freaked out and then let out a small sigh. "Amri, calm down. I'm not going to hurt you." She said calmly, letting him know she was sincere.
For a tough guy, he was pretty scared of what she might do to him. "What are you so afraid of?" She asked curious of why he would act that way. She really wasn't going to hurt him. Of course, the herbs might sting, but it wasn't like she was going to try to kill him. She wasn't like that. She might be mean, but she's not a killer.
She raised her cheek off of her hand and let a small smile come across her lips. "It's going to be alright." She assured him once more. Why would he be afraid of her? She was weak compared to him. At least strength wise. Mentally she could take him on. She opened her hand to show him that all there was were leaves.
"Okay, I'll explain to you what I'm going to do." She slowly took off her cloak and set it in her lap as she looked at him. "First, I will crush the fresh leaves with my hands, so they are small enough and the moisture will come out. I'll put them in your wound, which will help heal the wound until you can get a proper healer. Then I'll rip off this part of my cloak," She drew a finger across a part of her cloak that wasn't dirty, "to tie your leg, so the herbs will stay and the blood will stop."
Her eyes scanned his injured leg and then looked up at his face. "These leaves will help prevent your leg from growing infected and you know if you don't get this healed, you might have to get your leg cut off and I know you don't want that." She said letting her cheek fall in her empty hand once more. "This might sting a bit, but it's going to help you more than hurt you." She let out another small sigh. "So, are you going to let me help you, or not?"

"I'm not afraid," Amri spat, giving her a look of disgust like he couldn't believe she even suggested that, "I just don't trust you." To be perfectly honest, Amri was so uneducated that the idea that plants could help heal things was completely ridiculous to him. How could a d*** leaf do something that his body couldn't? Plants had never done anything for him, nor had he done anything for them, so he couldn't expect them to start showing their thanks anytime soon. His accusing glare was now directed at what was in her hands rather than her.
He listened carefully as she told him what she was going to do. It still bugged him in the back of his mind as to why she would want to do this if she was planning to help him, probably she just wanted to keep him alive in case anymore of those men attacked them, not that he would die from this or let a wound like this take any hold of him. Nothing would ever be able to get to him on that level. And he didn't like that she would have to get so close to him...
His eyes widened when she mentioned his leg getting cut off. They wouldn't do that...would they? That made even less sense then thin green things making something hurt less. Wouldn't cutting off a leg hurt even more than getting shot with an arrow? No wonder he had never trusted healers! No wonder he relied on his own toughness for letting his body heal itself...but...would leaves really work? He furrowed his eyebrows and tried to think about it. It wasn't like putting a leaf on Banryuu would fix its scratches. He had to polish it...wait, what if leaves were like...Amri polish!
"I still don't get how those leaf things work," he said, pulling up his pant leg to reveal his injury, "But you seem less crazy than the people who think cutting off legs fixes them."

"Don't trust me?" She asked chuckling a bit. "I think I've been pretty faithful thus far." She stated shaking her head at him. "Plus, I could have let that man kill you, but I didn't. I distracted him." Her face turned to a frown as she thought of the man. How many times were they going to be attacked? She hoped that the last man, was the last time, they would be attacked.
Violet let a smirk come across her face as she watched his eyes widen. She believed that she had gotten to him. If she hadn't had mentioned the cutting off of the leg, he probably would still be telling her to get away right now, or telling her that she wasn't allowed to help him.
She watched as he pulled his pant leg up. She scooted closer to him and studied the wound closer. The whole time she looked at it, she crushed the leaves in her hands. When she had finished she looked at the leaves, that now had liquid coming out of them. "Okay, here we go." She said as she leaned over his thigh.
She did as she said she would do. She took the leaves and, unfortunately for her, covered his wound with them. Just touching it was making her naustious, but she 'had' to do it, in her mind. She wasn't going to let his leg get infected. She held them there for a moment, making sure the liquid went into the wound, and then she grabbed her cloak and ripped off the part that was clean. She took the long piece of cloak and wrapped it tightly around the wound, with the leaves still there, and then tied it.
Violet scooted back and tossed her cloak to the side. "There, that should help for the time being, but make sure you see someone to heal that." She said, her voice stern. "You understand me?" She hoped that the herbs would help his leg. By now, it should feel a bit better, because the herbs were supposed to also help with the pain.

Amri looked away as she worked on his leg, still not believing that he was actually letting a girl help him. He would make up for it later, he needed to train extra hard. He needed to develop an immunity to having his neck squeezed, now how would he work on that? He also wanted to work on some fight moves that only required his arms, just in case his leg ever got injured like this again. Suffocating worked well, but it allowed too much room for the opponent to gather their strength. He needed a quicker method.
When he felt that she was done, he quickly pulled down the bottom of his hakama and retied his leg brace on, avoiding all eye contact as he did so, like he was pretending it hadn't happened at all. "I will not see a healer because I don't need it and they don't make sense." He ignored the fact that it was starting to hurt a little less, it was probably because he'd been sitting down for awhile, and nothing more. He then glared at Violet. "You're never mentioning this to anyone."
Now that that was over with, he wanted to discuss the main reason he had bothered keeping her. However he had been when he was drunk...it was his weak spot, and it made no sense. What was deep inside him? He had never bothered with that kind of thing before. She was the only connection he had to that, and he was hoping she might have some insight. He needed to make sure it would never happen again.
"Is it possible to kill a part of yourself if you don't like it?" It was something he had always dreamed of, but hadn't really needed until now. He had always thought it would be wonderful if he could just go inside his head and kill any weakness and doubt he found. Right now, he wanted to kill whatever part of him wanted to be a "hero."

Violet glared at the boy that sat in front of her. "Amri, you will see a healer, because you do need it." She scooted a bit closer to him and tried to meet eye contact with him. "Just because I put those herbs there doesn't mean your leg will heal fully." She rested her cheek in her hand as she leaned on her knee. "And I won't tell anyone, but I don't see the big deal."
Looking up at the sky, she noticed that it was growing late. She probably should get home. If she didn't return, they would look for her, and that would end in disaster. She didn't look back to the boy in front of her, but instead looked around her. She had never been in this part of the woods and she really didn't want to be there.
She looked back at Amri when he had asked her a question. She thought about what he had asked, but she didn't know what to say. What if she said the wrong thing? She decided against ignoring him, because that would just anger him. "Okay, this is what I have heard." She said pausing for a moment. "Every part of you, will always be with you. It might disappear, but it's still there, somewhere underneath it all."
Violet thought about everything he had said that night, and everything they had talked about earlier. Then it hit her. "Amri, earlier you asked me if you had mentioned anything about your past. What exactly happened to you when you were younger?" She asked seriously. "I won't tell anyone, I promise." She wasn't lying. If she promised to keep a secret, she would. She wasn't always honest, but she was one to keep her promises.
